The Government Office has just issued Notice No. 563/TB-VPCP dated December 19, 2024, concluding Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh's working trip with ministries and localities on the implementation of the Can Tho - Ca Mau expressway construction project and a number of key transport projects in the Mekong Delta region.
The Prime Minister requested all levels, sectors and localities to focus on synchronously, drastically and effectively implementing the tasks and solutions set out to achieve the goal of completing 600 km of expressway in the Mekong Delta region by 2025 and 2026.
In particular, the Can Tho - Ca Mau expressway will be completed before December 31, 2025 to seamlessly connect the entire North - South expressway in the East from Lang Son to Ca Mau, and continue to invest in the Can Tho - Dat Mui expressway section according to the plan.
Chau Doc - Can Tho - Soc Trang Expressway to be completed before December 31, 2026, striving to complete earlier.
Along with other expressway projects in the area, the early completion of these important works and projects will soon create new development space, new value, generate large revenue from land for socio-economic development, create new industrial parks, new urban areas, new service areas and create jobs and livelihoods for people.
During the remaining time of 2024 and from the beginning of 2025, ministries, branches, localities and units are required to continue to resolutely implement the following key tasks and solutions:
Regarding site clearance, the People's Committees of localities shall complete all site clearance work to hand over to projects as planned; in which, the People's Committee of Can Tho City shall completely resolve the relocation of the landfill on the IC2 National Highway 1 connection route (Can Tho - Ca Mau project) in December 2024; hand over 100% of the site to the Cao Lanh - Lo Te project before December 31, 2024.
Regarding construction materials, the Prime Minister requested that all localities with sources of sand and stone materials to supply key transport projects in the South, especially the Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3 project and projects in the Mekong Delta region, must complete mining licensing by December 2024.
An Giang province completed procedures to resume exploitation of Antraco stone quarry in December 2024 to supply key transport projects in the Mekong Delta region (priority given to the Can Tho - Ca Mau expressway project).
At the same time, urgently complete procedures to adjust the dredging capacity of the Vam Nao River to supply sand for filling the roadbed according to the direction of Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha, to be completed in December 2024.
Tien Giang province has completed all procedures for sand mining, ensuring sand mining activities for projects implemented in December 2024 according to the tasks assigned by the Prime Minister.
Review the determination of material prices at commercial mines in the area, strictly handle organizations and individuals that delay mine licensing procedures and determine material prices not in accordance with regulations.
At the same time, continue to have solutions to strictly manage the price of filling materials supplied to projects, not allowing group interests to occur in the management, exploitation and supply of common construction materials.
