On April 16, at the National Assembly House, Politburo member and National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man met with Lao Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone on the occasion of attending the 4th Green Growth Partnership Forum and Global Goals (P4G) Summit in Hanoi.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on behalf of the Vietnamese National Assembly, once again, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man expressed his deepest condolences to the Lao Party, National Assembly, Government and people, especially Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone and his family; emphasizing that the loss of Comrade Khamtay Siphandone is a huge loss for Laos and the Vietnam - Laos relationship; hoping that Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone and his family as well as the Lao National Assembly, Government and people will soon overcome this pain.

The Chairman of the National Assembly expressed his pleasure when the Vietnam -Laos relations continued to develop comprehensively in all fields; desire to promote bilateral relations; affirming that the National Assembly of Vietnam will coordinate closely with the Lao National Assembly to promote the improvement of institutions, policies, create favorable legal corridors for the government of the two countries to effectively implement high -level agreements, investment cooperation projects between the two countries as well as the contents that have been agreed by the government.
Lao Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone expressed his deep gratitude to the National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man for his condolences for his death. Lao Prime Minister transferred the greetings of the General Secretary, President Thongloun Sisoulith and Chairman of the National Assembly Xausomphone Phomvan to National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man; Expressing the impression of the great and comprehensive achievements of Vietnam, as well as the position and role of Vietnam on the increasingly enhanced international forums, especially appreciated Vietnam's role in organizing this P4G Summit. The Lao Prime Minister agreed with the assessment of the National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man on Vietnam -Laos relations, and affirmed to continue to drastically direct the ministries and branches of Laos to drastically implement the agreements achieved at the meeting with the two Politburo and the results of the 47th meeting of the Vietnam - Laos Commission on Laos to promote cooperation in all fields of politics - foreign -defense, trade and investment transportation connectivity, with a focus on creating new breakthroughs in economic, cultural, educational, healthcare, and scientific-technical cooperation; improving the effectiveness of investment cooperation; and especially prioritizing the completion of important joint projects previously committed to.
National Assembly Chairwoman Tran Thanh Man and Lao Prime Minister Sonxay Siphandone emphasized the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation in Vietnam - Laos "unique" in the world, and expressed joy about the important results achieved in the relationship between the two countries over the past time, especially political trust continued to be strengthened through regular maintenance and cooperation in many areas.
