Politburo Member, Prime Minister Le Minh Hung and 4 Prime Ministers of ASEAN member countries attended the opening session of the ASEAN Future Forum, including Lao Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone, Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet, Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul and Timor-Leste Prime Minister Kay Rala Xanana Gusmao.
The ASEAN Future Forum (AFF) took place in Hanoi on June 9-10 with the theme "Shaping a common future: Peace, Prosperity, with the People at the center".
This is the first major high-level multilateral foreign affairs event hosted by Vietnam after the success of the 14th Party Congress, the 16th National Assembly election and the process of consolidating key leadership positions of the Party and State.
The ASEAN Future Forum is an initiative proposed by Vietnam at the 43rd ASEAN Summit in Indonesia in September 2023.
Through two sessions held in 2024 and 2025, the Forum received widespread attention and support from ASEAN countries as well as the international community. Many contents and initiatives discussed at the Forum have been included in documents of ASEAN Summits in the same year.
