On the morning of December 9, at the Government headquarters, Politburo member and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh chaired a meeting with ministries, branches, central agencies, and localities on the situation of the rapid implementation of the "Quang Trung Campaign" to rebuild and repair houses for households whose houses were collapsed, floated, or severely damaged by recent storms and floods.
As of December 8, in the provinces and cities in the Central region, construction of 971/1,635 houses has been started, of which 479 houses have been completed, the number of houses that have not yet started construction is 664. The provinces and cities have repaired 34,627 houses; are repairing 3,943 houses; there are still 891 houses that have not started repair.
Concluding the meeting, the Prime Minister praised localities for actively overcoming the consequences of storms and floods, especially focusing on stabilizing people's lives, production, and restoring houses for people.
The Prime Minister commended and thanked the provinces of Dak Lak, Gia Lai, Khanh Hoa, Quang Ngai, Lam Dong, the Army, Police, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, the Ministry of Construction, the Vietnam Fatherland Front, and the Youth Union for their very active participation in implementing the Quang Trung Campaign and many houses have been started for construction and repair.
At the same time, he severely criticized Quang Tri province for 12 households whose houses were severely damaged by the impact of storms and floods, but have not yet been repaired, people still have to stay temporarily, requesting Quang Tri province to report this before 5:00 p.m. on December 9.
The Prime Minister emphasized that the "Quang Trung Campaign" is a campaign without gunshots, but it must be victorious and resounding to bring joy and happiness to the people, especially those who do not have a home or have a house damaged after the recent historic flood.
Therefore, it is necessary to be more urgent and accelerated; implement with all responsibility to the people and with all the affection from the heart, with the goal of completing the construction of new houses for households that have lost their homes before January 31, 2026 and completing the repair of damaged houses before December 31, 2025.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh pointed out that in addition to State resources, it is necessary to mobilize resources of the whole society to participate in supporting the construction and repair of houses for people, in the spirit of "whoever has something helps others; whoever has something helps others; whoever has meritorious services helps others; whoever has little helps less, whoever has a lot helps a lot; wherever convenient, help there".
"If there are any problems or difficulties, immediately report to the Government and the Prime Minister for consideration and resolution because for people who are losing their homes, they must do it no matter how much is lacking," the Prime Minister requested.
The Prime Minister requested the Secretaries of the Provincial Party Committee, City Party Committees, and Chairmen of People's Committees of provinces and cities to spend time assigning leaders to monitor the area, direct and urge implementation; the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment to guide localities on land-related issues; the Ministry of Construction to continue to pay attention to supporting the design of house models; the Ministry of Finance to balance and arrange financial resources.
Corporations such as Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN), National Energy Industry Group (Petrovietnam), Military Industry - Telecommunications Group (Viettel), Vietnam Post - Telecommunications Group (VNPT) ... are interested in restoring electricity, water, telecommunications and supporting localities in implementing the "Quang Trung Campaign".
The Prime Minister requested news agencies and newspapers to actively report daily to encourage, commend, motivate and disseminate good models in implementing the "Quang Trung Campaign".
