The Prime Minister decides to establish a Policy Advisory Council (Council) consisting of the following members:
1. Mr. Tran Quoc Khanh - former Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade, Standing member of the Council.
2. Mr. Le Quang Hung - former Deputy Minister of Construction.
3. Mr. Tran Ngoc Liem - former Deputy Inspector General of the Government.
4. Mr. Nguyen Sy Dung - former Deputy Head of the National Assembly Office.
5. Mr. Tran Dinh Thien - former Director of the Vietnam Economic Institute.
6. Mr. Hoang Van Cuong - Vice Chairman of the State Council of Professors.
7. Mr. Huynh Quyet Thang - Director of Hanoi University of Science and Technology.
8. Mr. Pham Hong Chuong - Director of the National Economics University.
9. Ms. Nguyen Thi Lan - Director of the Vietnam Academy of Agriculture.
10. Mr. Can Van Luc - Chief Economist of BIDV.
The Council is a consulting organization, with the function of researching, advising, and recommending the Prime Minister in managing, directing, and operating socio-economic development.
The Council's task is to research and advise the Prime Minister on strategies, plans, projects, and policies for socio-economic development in the medium and long term; annual socio-economic development plans.
Analyze, forecast, evaluate the situation and results of implementing the socio-economic development plan, strategies, projects, and policies for economic development; on that basis, advise and recommend to the Prime Minister measures and solutions to improve the effectiveness of implementation or propose amendments and supplements to mechanisms and policies to achieve the set goals.
