On the occasion of the 115th anniversary of International Women's Day (March 8, 2010 - March 8, 2025) and the 40th Anniversary of the Kovalevskaia Award, on March 8, Politburo member and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh visited former Vice President Nguyen Thi Binh - former Minister of Foreign Affairs, First President of the Kovalevskaia Award Committee of Vietnam, according to VNA.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh visited the health of former Vice President Nguyen Thi Binh and respectfully thanked her for her important contributions to the cause of national liberation, national construction and defense of the Fatherland.
In particular, she held the position of Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Provisional Revolutionary Government of the Republic of South Vietnam and Head of the Provisional Revolutionary Government's negotiation delegation at the Paris Conference on Vietnam from 1969 to 1973.
As Chairwoman of the Kovalevskaia Vietnam Award Committee for 31 years, from 1985-2016, former Vice President Nguyen Thi Binh has devoted much passion, effort and intelligence to maintaining the effectiveness of the Award, contributing to encouraging and motivating Vietnamese women in scientific research.
The Prime Minister wished the former Vice President good health, longevity and continued contributions to the country.
Former Vice President Nguyen Thi Binh thanked Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh for his affection and concern; expressed her confidence that under the leadership of the Party, the country, after 50 years of unification, will accelerate, make a breakthrough, and achieve many more important achievements to firmly enter the new era.
