Hoa Thinh commune is one of the localities most seriously affected by the recent floods in Dak Lak and the South Central region.
Phu Huu village alone suffered the most damage. The whole commune recorded 25 deaths and 67 completely collapsed houses.
On the afternoon of November 29, in Phu Huu village - where many areas were deeply flooded and all of the people's assets were swept away - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh directly inspected the scene and listened to reports on the plan to build flood shelters to ensure long-term safety for people in disaster areas.
The Prime Minister also visited and encouraged households whose houses were completely collapsed; burned incense to commemorate the victims who died due to floods; shared the pain and loss with relatives of families with deceased people.
The head of the Government affirmed that the Party and State always understand and share the difficulties and losses that people in disaster areas across the country are suffering.
The Government has been directing forces and localities to urgently deploy urgent solutions to overcome the consequences of natural disasters and stabilize people's lives.
The Prime Minister requested local Party committees and authorities to continue to focus on overcoming the consequences, emphasizing the following tasks: Ensuring accommodation, food, food and necessities, not letting people go hungry, cold, lack clean water or have no place to live.
Support the repair, construction of new houses and resettlement of households with collapsed and severely damaged houses, striving to complete before Tet.
Urgently clean up the environment, repair schools, ensure medical examination and treatment and prevent epidemics from arising after floods.
Focus on restoring the transportation, irrigation, domestic water, electricity, and telecommunications systems. At the same time, restore production and business, especially in the agricultural sector.
