On the afternoon of November 2, in Hanoi, a ceremony was held to announce and present the Prime Minister's decision on the appointment of Mr. Nguyen Thanh Lam - Deputy Minister of Information and Communications - to hold the position of General Director of Vietnam Television.
Pursuant to Decision No. 1311/QD-TTg, the Prime Minister decided to transfer and appoint Mr. Nguyen Thanh Lam - Deputy Minister of Information and Communications - to hold the position of General Director of Vietnam Television. The term of appointment is 5 years. The decision takes effect from November 1, 2024.
Attending the announcement and awarding ceremony of the appointment decision, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh congratulated and emphasized that Mr. Nguyen Thanh Lam has been with Vietnam Television for 18 years and has been transferred to many positions with extensive experience.
The Prime Minister affirmed that Mr. Nguyen Thanh Lam's appointment as General Director of Vietnam Television is appropriate in the current context.
The Head of Government stated that Vietnam Television has built its infrastructure from its own resources, and expressed his hope to have a television tower as a symbolic project.
Regarding content and programs, the Prime Minister assessed that Vietnam Television has been doing well, but as a key multimedia communication unit, it needs to further improve its quality. The programs must be relevant to life and reality, to motivate and inspire people.
Emphasizing that people are the center, the subject, the goal, and the driving force for development, the Prime Minister requested that Vietnam Television pay attention to the human factor in development.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Lam expressed his honor and emotion when the Prime Minister handed him the decision to appoint General Director of Vietnam Television.
He affirmed that this is a great honor but also a noble responsibility entrusted by the leaders of the Party, State and the collective of journalists of Vietnam Television.
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Lam expressed that in the new era, the era of national growth, the collective of Vietnamese television workers also needs more vitality and new creative inspiration along with a strong political will to protect and spread the good cultural and ideological values of the nation in both real and digital space.
At the same time, it reflects and contributes to leading the changes and transformations of the political system, businesses and more than 100 million Vietnamese people in the face of new opportunities, fortunes and challenges.
