Prime Minister returns to Nu Village to celebrate new home with villagers

Lao Cai - The resettlement area of ​​Lang Nu village was inaugurated on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army.

On the morning of December 22, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh attended the inauguration ceremony of the project to rebuild the residential area of ​​Lang Nu village (Phuc Khanh commune, Bao Yen district).

The project to reconstruct the residential area of ​​Lang Nu village has a total planned area of ​​18.5 hectares, including the following items: leveling the ground, building houses for 40 households (houses, kitchens, toilets) with full traffic roads, electricity supply, water supply, drainage systems... The total investment of the project is about 75 billion VND.

Previously, on the afternoon of September 12, when the aftermath of storm No. 3 was still very severe, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh went to Lao Cai to inspect the situation, visit people's lives, check and encourage the forces on duty to respond to floods, rescue, overcome the consequences of natural disasters, and provide necessities to people.

At the scene of the landslide in Lang Nu village that left nearly 100 people dead and missing, the Prime Minister requested that construction and reconstruction be completed by December 31, 2024 at the latest.

Speaking at the ceremony, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh expressed his emotion when returning to Lang Nu and joining the locals in celebrating and attending the inauguration ceremony of new houses and newly rebuilt villages - an important milestone, a meaningful gift from the Party, State and people of the whole country.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized that storm No. 3 and its circulation have passed, leaving behind extremely heavy damage to the northern provinces. Among them, Lao Cai is the locality that has suffered the greatest loss and pain in terms of people and property. In Lang Nu, Nam Tong, and Kho Vang alone, 84 people have been lost, and many households have no one left after the storm. That is the pain and loss that cannot be compensated.

The Prime Minister acknowledged, commended and thanked the efforts of the Party Committee and local authorities of Lao Cai province; the contributions, accompaniment and support of agencies, units, localities, individuals and forces, especially the heroic Vietnam People's Army with the spirit of "Serving the people", further enhancing the image of Uncle Ho's soldiers in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland, especially meaningful on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army and the 35th anniversary of the National Defense Day.

With the viewpoint that once you have settled down, you must have a career, the Prime Minister directed that in the coming time, the whole country and Lao Cai province in particular continue to overcome the consequences of natural disasters; organize for people affected by natural disasters to stabilize their lives.

On this occasion, the Prime Minister presented 150 houses to poor households living in temporary and dilapidated houses in Lao Cai province, sponsored by the Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group, Sovico Group and other organizations. The Prime Minister also presented 200 bicycles, 200 gifts and 200 sets of clothes to children in Lao Cai province.
