Deepening the heroic tradition of the Vietnam People's Army
This morning (December 14), in Hanoi, to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army (VPA) (December 22, 1944 - December 22, 2024) and the 35th anniversary of the National Defense Day (December 22, 1989 - December 22, 2024), the Ministry of National Defense chaired and coordinated with the Central Propaganda Department, the Ministry of Public Security and Cao Bang province to organize a national scientific conference with the theme: "The Vietnam People's Army - Heroic tradition, glorious career, core force in building a strong national defense".
Speaking at the conference, President Luong Cuong affirmed that the Vietnam People's Army is always worthy of the praise of beloved Uncle Ho: "Our army is loyal to the Party, filial to the people, ready to fight and sacrifice for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland, for socialism. Every mission is completed, every difficulty is overcome, every enemy is defeated" and the noble title "Uncle Ho's soldiers" that the people love and honor is always the heroic army of the heroic Vietnamese nation.
President Luong Cuong suggested that the conference focus on discussions to deepen the scientific and practical significance, continuing to affirm the absolute and direct leadership in all aspects of the Communist Party of Vietnam over the people's armed forces and the cause of national defense and security.
This is a consistent principle throughout the Vietnamese revolutionary process, the decisive factor for all victories, ensuring that the people's armed forces increasingly mature and grow stronger, and successfully fulfill the historical mission assigned by the Party, State and people.
The President requested the conference to analyze, explain, deepen and highlight the great contributions in the process of building, fighting, maturing and winning of the Vietnam People's Army, the qualities and cultural values of Uncle Ho's soldiers;
Thereby, we can draw historical lessons and unique features of military art and Vietnamese military culture that can be applied and promoted to improve the quality of training, coaching, drills, and combat readiness in peacetime of the Army. Continue to adjust the organization of forces, completing the goal of building a lean, compact, and strong Army.
Making outstanding achievements, entering the era of national rise
The President also requested the workshop to affirm and deepen the functions of the combat army, the working army, the production labor army, and the core role of the Vietnam People's Army in building a strong national defense. Regularly consolidate the solidarity and close relationship between the army and the people. Continue to thoroughly grasp, analyze and deeply explain the Party's guidelines and viewpoints on building and consolidating the all-people national defense, the all-people national defense posture associated with the people's security posture; build a solid people's heart posture; promote the core role of the People's Army in the cause of building the all-people national defense to protect the Fatherland; summarize the achievements and draw lessons from 35 years of implementing the All-People National Defense Day...
President Luong Cuong emphasized that the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army and the 35th anniversary of the National Defense Day are important political events for the country and the Army. This is an opportunity for us to review the heroic history of the nation; the nature, fine traditions, and glorious feats of arms of our army and people under the leadership of the Party.
The President affirmed that the Party, State and people believe that the Vietnam People's Army will continuously promote its heroic tradition and glorious career, continue to achieve outstanding feats, and together with the entire people enter a new era, an era of the Vietnamese nation's rise, building and firmly defending the Fatherland.
