On February 25, at the headquarters of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF), Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Tran Viet Truong and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Chairwoman of the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Le Thi Thu Hang co-chaired a meeting between the two agencies to review the results of coordination in 2024 and discuss a number of key tasks in 2025.
Speaking at the meeting, Ms. Le Thi Thu Hang affirmed that the work on overseas Vietnamese in the past year has been implemented synchronously and comprehensively, achieving many important results, with many bright spots; highly appreciated the substantial results in the coordination between the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front in the work on overseas Vietnamese in recent times; at the same time, proposed a number of key activities that the two sides need to coordinate in 2025.

Notable among them are the promotion of the signing of the Work Coordination Program between the two agencies for the 2025-2030 period; organizing major activities for overseas Vietnamese such as: The Great Unity ship visited Truong Sa with the participation of many ethnic and religious people in the country and overseas Vietnamese; The first Great Unity Festival abroad was held in the Czech Republic; The typical overseas Vietnamese delegation attended the 80th Anniversary of National Day on September 2.
Deputy Minister Le Thi Thu Hang also emphasized that the two sides need to strengthen coordination in supporting overseas Vietnamese, great solidarity, associations, information, propaganda, honoring and rewarding overseas Vietnamese.
Recognizing and highly appreciating the results achieved in the work of overseas Vietnamese, Mr. Tran Viet Truong expressed his impression of the activities that the two sides coordinated to organize for overseas Vietnamese, thereby gathering the strength of great national unity; believing that the coming programs and activities need to create conditions for people to directly contribute to the draft documents of the 14th Party Congress, contributing to the country's economic growth and development of science and technology.

Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Tran Viet Truong also raised a number of recommendations for overseas Vietnamese at the Conference to meet and interact with members of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front who are overseas Vietnamese (February 2025) such as the issue of issuing ID cards for overseas Vietnamese people, re-entering Vietnamese nationality, difficulties in resolving procedures when overseas Vietnamese return to invest, policies to attract and promote overseas Vietnamese scientists and experts.
The two sides agreed to promote the signing of the Work Coordination Program immediately after completing the restructuring process; coordinate the successful organization of major activities for overseas Vietnamese in 2025; strengthen coordination in implementing support for overseas Vietnamese, great solidarity, associations, information, propaganda, honoring and rewarding overseas Vietnamese.
