General Secretary offers incense at Hung Temple, Phu Tho

Phu Tho - On the occasion of the New Year, on February 5 (January 8, At Ty year), General Secretary To Lam and the Central working delegation offered incense to commemorate the Hung Kings at the Hung Temple Historical Relic Site (Viet Tri city).

The Central working delegation includes Politburo members, Central Party Secretaries: Head of the Central Organizing Committee Le Minh Hung; Head of the Central Inspection Committee Nguyen Duy Ngoc.

Also participating in the delegation were Politburo members: General Phan Van Giang - Minister of National Defense; General Luong Tam Quang - Minister of Public Security.

Also attending were Mr. Le Hoai Trung - Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Chief of the Party Central Committee Office; Mr. Le Thanh Long - Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Prime Minister; leaders of the Party Central Committee Office, the Office of the General Secretary, leaders of a number of central ministries, departments and branches; and leaders of Phu Tho province.

At Kinh Thien Palace on Nghia Linh Mountain, in a solemn atmosphere, General Secretary To Lam and the delegation offered incense, expressed their respect and gratitude to their ancestors, demonstrating the Vietnamese people's morality of "remembering the source of water"; praying for their ancestors to bless them with favorable weather; for the people to have a prosperous, peaceful and happy life; and for the country to be peaceful, prosperous and powerful.

Before the ancestors' spirit, the Delegation vows to continue the tradition of "descendants of the dragon and fairy" by constantly studying, vowing to strive to improve intelligence and working capacity to undertake the important responsibilities assigned by the Party, State and people.

Unite to successfully implement the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress; successfully direct the Party Congresses at all levels towards the 14th National Party Congress; build a country with a restored and developed economy; a society with order and discipline; national sovereignty maintained; soon complete the arrangement of a streamlined apparatus, operating effectively and efficiently, creating a foundation to bring the country into a new era - the era of the Vietnamese people's rise.

Next, General Secretary To Lam and the delegation offered flowers at the relief of Uncle Ho talking to officers and soldiers of the Vanguard Army Corps at the Den Gieng Five-Way Intersection, at the foot of Nghia Linh Mountain.

After the Dien Bien Phu Victory, on September 19, 1954, Uncle Ho visited Hung Temple and burned incense to show gratitude to his ancestors. At Gieng Temple, Uncle Ho met and talked with officers and soldiers of the Vanguard Army Corps to assign the task of taking over the capital Hanoi. He advised, "The Hung Kings had the merit of building the country, you and I must work together to protect the country." Uncle Ho's teachings have become a guiding principle, demonstrating the spirit of solidarity, unity and determination of generations of Vietnamese descendants in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.
