On the afternoon of January 19, at the Party Central Committee Headquarters, General Secretary To Lam received a delegation of 100 outstanding overseas Vietnamese participating in the program "Spring Homeland 2025".

General Secretary To Lam warmly welcomed the delegation of overseas Vietnamese, representing nearly 1,000 overseas Vietnamese from more than 40 countries and territories, to attend the "Homeland Spring 2025" program; highly appreciated the sentiments and contributions of overseas Vietnamese to the homeland and the country; expressed pride in seeing the overseas Vietnamese community growing strongly in both quantity and quality, and the overseas Vietnamese business associations, experts and intellectuals regularly having activities connecting with the domestic ones, forming a widespread network, connecting Vietnamese people both at home and abroad.

Sharing the country's situation with the delegation of overseas Vietnamese, the General Secretary affirmed that in 2024, despite many difficulties and challenges, the country has achieved important goals in the fields of socio-economy, national defense, security and foreign affairs. Notable results are economic growth and efforts to resolve social security issues.

Institutional breakthroughs, human resource development and infrastructure are being promoted. Foreign affairs continue to be a bright spot with many outstanding results. The country's international position and prestige are constantly being enhanced.

The work of building the Party and the political system continues to be promoted. The entire political system is also vigorously implementing the summary of the implementation of Resolution No. 18-NQ/TW, streamlining the organization of the political system to operate effectively, efficiently, and effectively, meeting the development requirements of the country in the new period.

Regarding the task of developing the country in the coming time, the General Secretary emphasized that the destination of the era of the Vietnamese nation's rise is a rich people, a strong country, a socialist society, standing shoulder to shoulder with the world powers.

All Vietnamese people, hundreds of millions of people, as one, under the leadership of the Party, are united, united, and united in strength, making the most of opportunities and advantages, pushing back risks and challenges, and bringing the country to comprehensive and strong development.

In addition to domestic efforts, the Party and State highly appreciate the valuable contributions of the Vietnamese community around the world to the current development of the country.

Recently, the Politburo issued Resolution 57-NQ/TW dated December 22, 2024 on breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation and national digital transformation.

Accordingly, the Resolution has put forth major policies in attracting talents, developing a network of experts and scientists at home and abroad to contribute their enthusiasm and intelligence to key programs and projects serving the country's development.

Speaking at the meeting, the representative of overseas Vietnamese expressed his honor that General Secretary To Lam took the time to receive the delegation, and sincerely thanked the attention of the Party, State and the General Secretary himself for the work of overseas Vietnamese in general and overseas Vietnamese attending the "Spring Homeland 2025" program in particular.

Overseas Vietnamese delegates affirmed their deep belief in the country's future development and wished to actively participate in contributing to realizing the country's development aspirations in the new era, the era of national growth.
