Within the framework of the official visit to the Republic of Singapore from 11-13 March, on the evening of March 11, General Secretary To Lam and his wife, along with the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation, had a meeting and discussion with officials and staff of the Vietnamese Embassy in Singapore and more than 200 representatives of the Vietnamese community in Singapore.
According to VNA, speaking with officials and staff of the Embassy and representatives of the Vietnamese community in Singapore, the General Secretary said that this visit to Singapore aims to deepen the bilateral relationship that has been established for more than half a century and has been tested over time between Vietnam and Singapore, aiming to continue to deepen the relationship, promote efficiency and substance in all fields.
Within the framework of the talks with Singapore's leaders, the General Secretary will continue to suggest that Singapore pay attention to and create favorable conditions for the Vietnamese community to live, study and work stably, integrate actively, and contribute to the development of the host country and the relationship between the two countries.
On this occasion, the General Secretary praised the achievements in integrating the Vietnamese community in Singapore and respectfully thanked the people for their contributions to the Fatherland.
The General Secretary also informed the people about the country's situation and development goals in the coming time, hoping that the overseas Vietnamese community in general and the community in Singapore in particular will continue to be unanimous and make efforts to contribute to the implementation of these breakthrough goals.
The General Secretary highly appreciated and responded to the opinions, proposals and recommendations of the overseas Vietnamese representatives and suggested that the people continue to unite, join hands to build a developed community, promote the beauty of Vietnam to international and local friends, and act as a solid bridge in the relationship between the two countries; the people, regardless of where they are, always nurture the spirit of compatriotism, always turn to the Fatherland with pride and responsibility, promote the strengths and potential of knowledge, science and technology to increasingly make practical contributions to the country.
The General Secretary suggested that the Embassy continue to do a good job of community work and protect citizens in the spirit of Resolution 36-NQ/TW, Directive 45-CT/TW and Conclusion 12-KL/TW of the Politburo on the work of overseas Vietnamese in the context of the growing Vietnamese community in Singapore, the Embassy must become a common home to connect the community, creating maximum convenience for people to carry out related administrative procedures.
On behalf of the staff and staff of the Vietnamese Embassy in Singapore and the community, Vietnamese Ambassador to Singapore Tran Phuoc Anh spoke to receive the direction of General Secretary To Lam, promising to actively implement the direction of the General Secretary, act as a solid bridge for the Vietnam - Singapore relationship and build an increasingly strong Vietnamese community in Singapore, towards the homeland.
Vietnamese Ambassador to Singapore Tran Phuoc Anh said that the area currently has over 25,000 Vietnamese people living, studying and working. The community is united, always looking towards the homeland, preserving and promoting the national cultural identity, actively contributing to the host society and contributing to strengthening the friendship between the people of the two countries.
Ambassador Tran Phuoc Anh emphasized that the Vietnamese expertise, intellectual community, and business people in the area have developed strongly, increasingly affirming their position in the host society. There are currently many Vietnamese professors and doctors working, teaching and researching at leading universities and research institutes in Singapore such as the National University of Singapore, Nanyang University of Technology, Singapore Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR)...
