General Secretary To Lam expressed his pleasure and emotion at meeting with comrades and friends of Belarus - hearts that have always been attached to Vietnam.

According to VNA, within the framework of the state visit to the Republic of Belarus from May 11-12, on the afternoon of May 11 (local time), General Secretary To Lam and the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation had a meeting with the Association of Foreign Culture and Friendship of Belarus, the Association of Belarus - Vietnam Friendship and former Belarus experts who have helped Vietnam.

Speaking at the meeting, General Secretary To Lam expressed his pleasure and emotion at meeting with comrades and friends of Belarus - hearts always attached to Vietnam, including experts who have devoted much effort, effort and enthusiasm to supporting Vietnam during difficult years.

The General Secretary emphasized that over the past 30 years since Vietnam and Belarus established diplomatic relations in 1992, having gone through many difficulties and challenges, the solidarity and friendship between the two peoples have always been strong, warm and trustworthy. This is a valuable asset of the two peoples.

Vietnam has always attached importance to the traditional friendship with Belarus; wishes to strengthen cooperation between the two countries in all fields, for the common interests of the two countries, for peace, cooperation and development in the region and the world.

The Vietnamese people will never forget the strong support and wholehearted help that the Government and people of the former Soviet Union as well as today's Belarus have given to the Vietnamese people in the past struggle for national independence and national reunification, as well as in the current cause of national construction and defense.

Welcoming the dynamic, creative and practical activities of the Friendship Association and cultural exchange with foreign countries of Belarus and the Belarus - Vietnam Friendship Association over the past time, the General Secretary proposed the Friendship and Cultural Exchange Association with Belarus and the Belarus - Vietnam Friendship Association to actively coordinate with the Vietnam Union of Vietnam Friendship Organizations, the Vietnam Friendship Association - Belarus, and continue to organize the activities Moreover, attracting more than the participation of people, scientists, businesses and especially the younger generation, helping the younger generation of the two countries more and more understanding and sticking together to nurture the friendship between the people of the two countries of Vietnam - Belarus increasingly durable.

The General Secretary emphasized that people's organizations are important factors in preserving history and passing on to future generations the unity, friendship and strong cooperation between the people of the two countries, contributing to further consolidating and developing the traditional friendship between Vietnam and Belarus.

Earlier, on the same afternoon, General Secretary To Lam and the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation visited and offered flowers at the Victory Monument in Minsk, Belarus. This is where Belarus people as well as tourists from around the world visit and commemorate those who sacrificed their lives in the great Patriotic War.
