According to the Vietnam News Agency, speaking at the meeting, General Secretary To Lam emphasized the visit took place in the context of the two countries to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, the Russian side solemnly celebrated the 80th anniversary of the victory day in the great national defense war.
The visit aims to enhance political trust, promote the Vietnam - Russia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, promote cooperation in the fields of Party, State, National Assembly, people-to-people exchanges, etc.
General Secretary To Lam emphasized that in the coming time, Vietnam will focus its efforts on important strategic opportunities, "accelerating" to strive to successfully complete the goals set by the Party; steadfastly following the path of innovation, taking science, technology and innovation as a key driving force.
The General Secretary affirmed that in recent times, the traditional friendship and comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and Russia have been strongly promoted, with delegation exchanges and contacts between senior leaders of the two countries taking place vigorously, especially at the highest level.
Cooperation in the fields of economy - trade, energy has achieved many successes, national defense - security cooperation has been promoted, which is an important pillar in the relationship between the two countries. Cooperation in education - training, science - technology, culture, sports, tourism continues to be maintained and has made new progress.
Emphasizing the important role of the overseas Vietnamese community, General Secretary To Lam was pleased to see that the Vietnamese community in the Russian Federation in particular, and the whole world in general, is increasingly developing, affirming its position at home and becoming an increasingly important resource contributing to the development of the country.
The General Secretary emphasized that despite many difficulties, the Vietnamese community in Russia is still one of the overseas Vietnamese communities taking the lead in volunteer work, solidarity and promoting the spirit of mutual love.
The General Secretary congratulated the Vietnamese Union in the Russian Federation awarded the Third -class Labor Medal, and hoped that in the coming time, the Union will continue to promote the core role to gather, connect the community, build the community more and more stable and develop.
With the Embassy staff, the General Secretary emphasized that entering a new era, an era of national growth, the Embassy staff must further promote their mettle, professionalism and sense of responsibility, contributing to the relationship between Vietnam and other countries, serving the cause of defending the Fatherland and developing the country.
The General Secretary suggested that the Vietnamese Embassy in the Russian Federation continue to pay attention and do better the work of overseas Vietnamese in the spirit of Resolution 36-NQ/TW, Directive 45-CT/TW and conclusion 12-KL/TW of the Politburo on overseas Vietnamese work in the context of the growing community, considering this as an important task to implement the country's development goal.
