Memorial service, burial of 19 sets of remains of martyrs who sacrificed in Laos

Thanh Hoa - 19 sets of remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who sacrificed in Laos are commemorated and buried at Dong Tam International Martyrs' Cemetery.

On May 27, at Dong Tam International Martyrs' Cemetery, Thanh Hoa province, the memorial service and burial of 19 sets of remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who sacrificed in the Lao PDR was solemnly held.

Attending the ceremony were General Nguyen Trong Nghia - Member of the Politburo, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army; Mr. Le Duc Thai - Secretary of Thanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee; Major General Doan Xuan Buong - Political Commissar of Military Region 4; along with leaders of ministries, departments, central agencies, Military Region 4 Command, leaders of Thanh Hoa province and Hua Phan province, Lao PDR.

In a solemn and emotional atmosphere, General Nguyen Trong Nghia, along with delegates, officers, soldiers and a large number of people, respectfully bowed to commemorate and offer incense to express gratitude to the outstanding children of the nation who bravely fought and sacrificed for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland and the noble international duty in the brotherly country of Laos.

Previously, in response to the Campaign "500 days and nights searching, repatriating and identifying martyrs' remains", the Repatriation Team of the Thanh Hoa Provincial Military Command proactively overcame difficulties, closely coordinated with levels, sectors, localities and people of Lao tribes to organize the search and exhumation of 19 remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who sacrificed in Laos.

The memorial service and burial of 19 martyrs' remains is not only a gratitude activity with profound humanistic meaning, but also continues to affirm the morality of "Drinking water, remembering the source", "Gratitude" of the Vietnamese nation.

This is also a vivid proof of the responsibility, affection and unwavering loyalty of the Party Committee, government, armed forces and people of Thanh Hoa towards the heroic martyrs who dedicated their youth to national independence and noble international solidarity.

Immediately after the memorial service, leaders and delegates organized the burial of 19 sets of remains of martyrs at Dong Tam International Martyrs' Cemetery, Thanh Hoa province.
