On May 14, Politburo member and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh chaired a meeting with ministries, branches and central agencies to assess the work of combating smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods, intellectual property violations, and goods origin in the first months of 2025 and the direction and tasks for the coming time.
In his concluding remarks, the Prime Minister stated that this is an important task for the entire political system, the Party Committee and the government must get involved, strengthen state management at all levels and sectors, mobilize the participation of the people; it is a long-term task that must be done regularly, comprehensively, and continuously.
The Prime Minister emphasized that protecting the health, rights and legitimate interests of the people and consumers must be given top priority, first of all. Strengthen the effectiveness of the work of preventing smuggling, trade fraud, production, and circulation of counterfeit, counterfeit, and goods of unknown origin; improve the management capacity and responsibilities of agencies, ensuring no cross-subjection or missed.

Regarding specific tasks and solutions, the Prime Minister requested that the first of all launch a peak campaign to fight, search, prevent smuggling, trade fraud, production, and circulation of counterfeit, counterfeit, and goods of unknown origin, copyright violations, intellectual property violations, and goods origin violations.
The Prime Minister directed the Ministry of Home Affairs to review the functions and tasks of ministries and branches, not to leave legal gaps, not to loosen management due to the arrangement of organizations, apparatus, and administrative boundaries.
The Ministry of Public Security directs professional forces and local police to establish special projects and strictly handle violators.
The Ministry of Industry and Trade coordinates with the People's Committees of provinces and cities to direct market management forces to handle violations; direct market management forces to take primary responsibility, preside over and coordinate with agencies to inspect the compliance with the law of organizations and individuals in the production and trading of goods and commercial services.
Specialized inspection agencies under ministries, branches and localities are responsible for licensing and managing according to fields and areas, paying special attention to items such as medicine, milk, food, and food.
Along with that, stipulate specific tasks of the People's Committees at the commune level in coordinating with departments, branches, and management units to inspect and supervise production facilities in the area.
The Ministry of Health urgently implements tasks, especially controlling the notion of fake drugs and smuggled drugs of unknown origin and origin entering Vietnam.
The Ministry must play a key role, resolutely fight and push back and end the situation of fake drugs, considering the care and protection of people's health as the top priority.
