On March 26, at the Presidential Palace, Politburo member and President Luong Cuong met with Singaporean Prime Minister Lawrence Wong.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, President Luong Cuong welcomed Prime Minister Lawrence Wong on his first official visit to Vietnam as Prime Minister of the Republic of Singapore; emphasizing that this is the first high-level delegation exchange activity after the two countries upgraded their relationship to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and is also a highlight of the year with many major holidays of the two countries.
President Luong Cuong emphasized that Vietnam attaches great importance to relations with neighboring countries and the region, including Singapore; hopes that the two countries will soon implement the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership framework effectively and substantially, bringing the bilateral relationship to strong development in the coming time; suggested that Singapore continue to support Vietnam in developing human resources, especially the team of strategic-level staff; improve quality in all areas of cooperation, including innovation, clean energy, and digital transformation.
The Singaporean Prime Minister expressed his deep impression of Vietnam's strong development in recent years; affirmed that Singapore wishes to continuously strengthen cooperation with Vietnam, a like-minded friend with Singapore and Singapore's first Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in ASEAN.
Emphasizing that Vietnam is always a companion of Vietnam in the Doi Moi process, the Singaporean Prime Minister affirmed that Singapore is ready to actively cooperate and support Vietnam in economic and social development, realizing the goal of double-digit development, becoming a developed country with high income by 2045; strengthening cooperation with Vietnam in areas where both sides have potential and demand such as renewable energy, cable connectivity and digital economy, solving emerging challenges.

The two leaders highly appreciated the outstanding cooperation achievements in all fields in recent times, especially politics, economics, trade and investment; agreed that the framework of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership on the basis of political trust and sharing of interests and visions in many fields will help strengthen and connect more comprehensively, more extensively and effectively the two countries, both bilaterally and in regional strategic issues.
The two sides agreed that Vietnam and Singapore need to effectively promote cooperation potential, with a complementary economy; closely coordinate and effectively implement the contents of the new relationship framework, including the early completion of the development and implementation of the Action Program for the period 2025-2030 with specific programs and measures on 6 pillars of the Joint Statement on upgrading relations.
Continue to strengthen political trust, increase high-level visits and contacts and channels (Party, State, Government, National Assembly and central and local governments), people-to-people exchanges, business connections; further deepen defense and security cooperation, cooperation in preventing cross-border crimes, including cybercrime; increase information exchange, assessments of regional and world situations; cooperate in responding to traditional and non-traditional security challenges.
The two sides also agreed to effectively implement bilateral cooperation mechanisms to create breakthroughs in new areas of cooperation within the framework of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
Welcomed and appreciated the fact that the two governments agreed to continue improving the quality of cooperation, including developing the VSIP network to VSIP 2.0 in a sustainable, smart, creative direction, implementing clean energy projects and cross-border payments using QR codes.
