On December 2, at the National Assembly House, Politburo member and National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man received First Vice Chairman of the Russian Federation Council of the National Assembly and Chairman of the Vietnam Cooperation Group of the Federation Council A. V. Yatskin during a working visit to Vietnam from November 29 to December 5.
National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and First Vice Chairman of the Federation Council A.V. Yatskin agreed that the Vietnam - Russia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership is developing positively; bilateral cooperation in the fields of economy - trade, investment is promoted in a practical and effective direction, especially agricultural, forestry, fishery and food cooperation; the expansion of direct flights between the two sides has contributed to promoting people-to-people, tourism and trade cooperation between the two countries.
National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man suggested that the Federal Council support and promote localities of the two countries to expand and strengthen direct cooperation, establish new pairs of relations to meet development needs, and promote the strengths of each locality in each country.
First Vice Chairman of the Federal Council of the Federal Assembly A.V. Yatskin affirmed that the two sides still have a lot of potential and room to be exploited; said that one of the important tasks of the Federal Council is to promote cooperation between the localities of the two countries.
The First Vice Chairman of the Russian Federation of the National Assembly thanked the Vietnamese side for arranging for the working delegation to visit Vietnamese localities such as Can Tho city and Khanh Hoa province to learn about opportunities to promote cooperation on local channels and be ready to work with the Vietnamese National Assembly to support localities in substantially implementing signed cooperation agreements, as well as signing new documents to serve as a basis for expanding relations.
The two sides agreed to increase information exchanges to support connecting more localities of the two countries, in order to promote people-to-people exchanges, expand cooperation in the fields of economy - trade, investment, culture, education - training, tourism, etc.
National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man acknowledged the positive results of cooperation on the parliamentary channel in general, cooperation between the National Assembly of Vietnam and the Federal Council in particular, including the proactive and responsible role of the Vietnam - Russia Friendship Parliamentarians Group of the Vietnamese National Assembly and the Cooperation Group with the Vietnamese National Assembly of the Federal Council.
The agreement signed in September 2024 and the Action Plan agreed upon by both sides for the 2024 - 2025 period have been seriously implemented by the two legislative bodies and many tasks have been completed. The two sides agreed to study and draft a new Cooperation Plan for the next phase.
