On December 11, General Secretary To Lam and the Central Working Delegation visited and worked with the Standing Committee of Dong Thap Provincial Party Committee on the implementation of the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress, the Resolution of the 11th Dong Thap Provincial Party Congress, term 2020 - 2025; and the implementation of Directive No. 35-CT/TW of the Politburo on Party congresses at all levels towards the 14th National Party Congress, according to VNA.
Speaking at the working session, after listening to reports and comments from representatives of ministries, departments and branches, General Secretary To Lam commended, highly appreciated and acknowledged the efforts, strivings, results and achievements that the Party Committee, government and people of Dong Thap province have achieved in the past time.
Suggesting potential with some emerging advantages such as: geographical location advantage and traffic connectivity, human and labor potential, the General Secretary emphasized that the province mobilizes all resources and typical strengths to make a breakthrough, contributing positively to the common development of the Mekong Delta and the country.
By 2030, Dong Thap province must develop into a leading province in the Mekong Delta region in building ecological agriculture, modern countryside, civilized farmers; sustainably develop the agricultural sector to support the economy.
By 2050, Dong Thap will become a pioneer province in innovation and economic restructuring towards modernization, opening up opportunities for new economic sectors: ecological economy, freshwater economy, adaptive agriculture, multimodal transport, and health care.
To realize the vision, General Secretary To Lam stated that Dong Thap needs to regularly do a good job of Party building, building a streamlined, clean, strong political system that operates effectively and efficiently. Along with that, it is necessary to promote the responsibility of leaders and their exemplary role; have a breakthrough mechanism to attract talents inside and outside the province; develop human resources with knowledge, skills, innovation, dare to think, dare to do, dare to take responsibility, strive for the common cause...
The General Secretary requested that the Dong Thap Provincial Party Committee have drastic and decisive solutions to successfully carry out the socio-economic development tasks in 2025, focusing on striving to achieve the highest level of the set targets, especially those related to economic growth and people's income. Focus on priority solutions to ensure growth goes hand in hand with environmental protection, social security, and the best care for people's lives.
Affirming that the recommendations and proposals of Dong Thap province are very appropriate and practical, stemming from local realities and the aspiration to "rise up" of the entire provincial Party Committee, representatives of central ministries and branches also exchanged opinions on the principle of creating conditions and maximum support, accompanying the dynamism, creativity and breakthroughs of Dong Thap province.
The General Secretary believes that in the coming time, Dong Thap province will successfully implement and complete the targets and tasks set by the 11th Provincial Party Congress, contributing to the successful implementation of the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress, bringing Dong Thap province to increasingly rapid, sustainable and comprehensive development, and the people will increasingly have a prosperous, joyful and happy life, worthy of the image, culture and people of Dong Thap "loyal, dynamic and creative".
Previously, during the working program in Dong Thap province, General Secretary To Lam and the Central Working Delegation visited and offered incense to the tomb of Vice President Nguyen Sinh Sac - the father of President Ho Chi Minh at the Nguyen Sinh Sac relic site, Ward 4, Cao Lanh city.
