From an ideology called “Commandos”
VPBank Commandos Ultra 2024 is the 7th season and marks the 10th anniversary of this program. It can be affirmed that this is an internal program that has been tailored for VPBankers and as the bank's own people say, it is a "specialty", the most anticipated spiritual food every year.
This year, more than 1,000 VPBank employees registered to participate in the selection. And to be in the top 150 warriors who won the right to conquer the Ta Nang - Phan Dung peak (Duc Trong, Lam Dong), VPBankers had to go through a long journey with the highest effort.
It is a journey to train physical strength and determination through physical testing challenges. It is a journey to train knowledge about corporate culture and understanding of the organization through the "Cultural Arena" competition held weekly on the MyVPBank application.
Above all, it is the journey of accumulating knowledge, improving capacity to excellently complete professional work, and actively participating in internal activities, clearly demonstrating the qualities of VPBank people who are not afraid of difficulties, hardships, always proactive, creative, and breaking through their own limits to shine.
“This is the third consecutive season I have participated in the conquest round of VPBank Commandos. For me, each new Commandos season always starts right after the previous season ends. Because after each journey, I tell myself to try harder, be more determined in my work, and to “fight harder” in the movement activities of the unit as well as the entire bank to have the advantage and opportunity to join the journey of the Commandos warriors. In other words, Commandos is both a reward and a motivation, a goal for each VPBanker” – Ms. Nguyen Thi Uyen – Finance Department shared.
Until the “first times” of the super soldiers
VPBank Commandos always puts the experience of each player first. Therefore, choosing a competition location, ensuring the criteria of regional, beautiful, emotional, multi-experience and non-repetitive is always a challenge for the Organizing Committee every season. In addition, it is necessary to create a game scenario that is difficult enough, surprising enough on new terrain, and at the same time have safe options while still keeping the player's emotions intact in the face of unexpected changes in the weather.
At Ta Nang, VPBankers spent a day of "training" in foggy weather conditions, high humidity and moved along the route from the headquarters to Ma Bo lake in Da Quyn commune (bordering Ninh Thuan) with a total distance of about 16km.
On this route, the “Super Warriors” must run (3km), cycle (3km), and trail run (2km) before competing in SUP on the lake and taking teammates to the island to find treasure. Interspersed between the physical challenge stations are intellectual challenges such as searching for golden keys, deciphering secret letters, and creating maps with puzzles…
On the second day of competition, the warriors “entered the battle” in the rainy weather conditions since the previous night. Therefore, the experience of wearing a raincoat, sitting on a tractor and going up and down the muddy road to the starting point was truly a “thrilling feeling” for many VPBankers who were used to sitting in the office.
Fortunately for the “Super Warriors”, after the start, the rain stopped and the sun came out when the group was about 2km from the summit. That was also the time when the teams crossed streams and steep slopes with ropes for the climbers to hold on to…
However, there was no sign of any let-up. The 10 teams continued to push forward. And their reward was the sight of clouds rolling like white silk from one valley to another as they passed through the pine forest.
The vision of the “Super Warriors” is extended to infinity on the top of Ta Nang – at an altitude of 1,160m. A vast sky above, smooth grass carpets covering the hillsides, changing color with each different season, the wild wind blowing, and further away are undulating green mountains reaching to the horizon.
Looking from VPBank Commandos, to see the "quality" of VPBank people
Unlike previous Commandos journeys, VPBank Commandos Ultra 2024 is a journey to spread Corporate Culture through cleverly integrating core values and VPBank "quality" into challenges without losing the appeal and emotions of the players.
First of all, the Organizing Committee has included “Cultural Arena” (a quiz on corporate culture knowledge on the MyVPBank app) into the program’s qualifying round scoring system. In addition, the scoring is added to VPBankers who actively participate in VPBank’s internal activities and movements.
Next is to attach the challenge stations of the 2 competition days in Ta Nang to 5 core values: Aspiration; Integrity; Efficiency; Discipline; Creativity. At the same time, during the process of conquering the challenges, VPBankers must strive to surpass their own limits in terms of physical strength, intelligence and team spirit. These are also the 2 strokes, generalizing the portrait of VPBank people in terms of Prosperity of body and mind (intelligence and physicality).
The success of VPBank Commandos Ultra 2024 is also a celebration of collective strength. Where members from the North - Central - South come together, where people who have just met for the first time become family, where the distance between leaders, managers and employees is erased to share the two words "teammates".

Ms. Le Hoang Khanh An, Director of Finance, a participant in VPBank Commandos Ultra 2024, shared: “The challenges on the journey have truly turned VPBankers into “Super Warriors”. Above all, we clearly feel the collective strength of VPBank, the strength that comes from unity, solidarity, and comradeship to support and overcome the journey.”
Activities like VPBank Commandos are really necessary as they create both a cohesive glue and a cultural identity for VPBank. In other words, VPBank Commandos contains cultural values, portraits of VPBank Prosperity people, but is also an effective tool to spread these values.
