Gold price forecast
Gold prices increased sharply partly due to the weakening of the USD. In addition, rising crude oil prices and slightly falling US bond yields also contributed to the increase of precious metals.
August gold contract increased by 16.8 USD, to 3,362.2 USD/ounce. September silver prices increased by 0.442 USD, to 38.745 USD/ounce.

Technically, gold buyers for August delivery still have the advantage in the short term. Meanwhile, the next downside target for the bears is to push prices below the strong technical support level at the bottom of June at $3,250.5 an ounce.
The first resistance level was seen at $3,375/ounce, followed by a weekly peak of $3,389.3/ounce. First support was at an overnight low of $3,337.2 an ounce, followed by a weekly low of $3,314.3 an ounce.
Key outside markets today saw the USD index fall. Nymex crude oil futures are rising and trading around $68/barrel. The yield on the 10-year US Treasury note is currently at 4.431%.
