Ms. Nguyen Mai Linh - a customer who came to buy silver at a gold and silver shop on Tran Nhan Tong Street (Hanoi) - said: "Last month, to buy silver, I had to wait in line. There were times when the shop ran out of stock and did not sell. By early November, the market was less crowded at times, but today I returned and the queue waiting to buy took place. Currently, the shop only sells a maximum of 5 kg of silver per customer".
Ms. Linh added that with the amount of silver she had just bought, the store would have to wait until mid-March 2026 to return the goods.
"The staff here also informed that if customers want to sell while waiting to receive the silver, they will have to sell all the silver they have bought on the invoice, not separately" - Ms. Mai Linh said.
As for Mr. Ngo Van Quang (Bach Mai ward, Hanoi), he decided to buy silver because he saw that the price of this metal was trending up.
"Gold is very difficult to buy now, and silver, although it has to wait, is still easier to buy. I think the price of silver could increase in the near future, so I bought it to save assets and consider it a long-term investment channel" - Mr. Quang said.
Also on Tran Nhan Tong street, while many people were waiting to buy, Ms. Bui Thi Hanh (Hai Ba Trung ward, Hanoi) decided to sell it to make a profit.
"I bought 2kg of silver in early October this year. At that time, the price was more than 50 million VND/kg. Up to now, I have made a profit, so I decided to sell it immediately" - Ms. Hanh shared.
