In the third quarter of 2024, units of the Vietnam National Coal - Mineral Industries Group (TKV) in Quang Ninh, especially coal production and consumption units, faced many difficulties due to the impact of storm No. 3, causing power outages leading to production stoppages, and increasingly deep mining conditions and complex geology.
However, the units have closely followed the Group's direction, proactively prevented, responded to storms and overcame the consequences of storms, and quickly stabilized production. Production and business results in the first 9 months of 2024: The Group's raw coal output reached over 37.6 million tons, equal to 72.8% of the annual plan; consumption of 34.2 million tons, of which consumption for power households reached 29.5 million tons, equal to 70.3% of the annual plan. The Group's total revenue reached over 123,000 billion VND; budget contribution was over 20,000 billion VND, equal to 78.8% of the annual plan; average income of employees reached 16.7 million VND/person/month, equal to 101.6% of the annual plan.
For the Western region (Uong Bi - Dong Trieu area), raw coal output in 9 months reached 7.5 million tons; excavated over 720,000 m3 of soil and rock; dug over 85,000 m of new tunnels; total revenue of the whole region reached over 27,000 billion VND; average income of workers reached over 18.9 million VND/person/month. Total investment value of the whole region in 9 months reached over 980 billion VND. After storm No. 3, basically units in the region have overcome the consequences and restored production.
In Ha Long area, the units implemented raw coal output in 9 months reached 6.2 million tons, equal to 67.9% of the yearly plan; dug over 27,600m of tunnels; stripped 26.2 million m3 of soil; total regional revenue reached over 31,600 billion VND; total investment value over 620 billion VND; average income of workers over 16.3 million VND/person/month.
For Cam Pha region, raw coal output in 9 months reached 13.04 million tons; soil was excavated 70 million m3; 75,660 meters of tunnel were dug; total revenue was over 16,000 billion VND; average income of workers reached over 16.1 million VND/person/month.
At the recent meeting of the Group's leaders with units in 3 coal production regions, Mr. Ngo Hoang Ngan - Chairman of the Board of Directors of TKV - acknowledged and highly appreciated the units for strictly implementing the Group's instructions, proactively preventing and responding to storm No. 3, thereby minimizing damage and quickly overcoming the consequences of the storm, stabilizing production soon. At the same time, actively supporting the Electricity industry and localities to overcome the consequences of the storm as well as making efforts to implement the production and business plan for the first 9 months of the year, especially the units in the Cam Pha region.
After storm No. 3, units need to be deeply aware of the importance of proactiveness in disaster prevention and control, the Group's professional departments and units review and evaluate response capabilities, investment, management, and operation of equipment and works to be ready to respond to natural disasters and floods.
Research units to use power sources from power plants in case of grid power failure to serve production maintenance activities. TKV Trade Union continues to review and deploy direct support to families of workers affected by storm No. 3. For production and business in the fourth quarter of 2024, units will focus on boosting production, achieving the highest output according to the exploitation license, launching the emulation movement for production in the fourth quarter, ensuring the completion of the 2024 plan targets; deploying the development of the 2025 production and business plan and the 5-year plan 2025-2030; removing difficulties and obstacles for units. At the same time, continue to strengthen inspection, control, identification and elimination of risks and incidents that may occur; ensure labor safety...
Mr. Ngo Hoang Ngan also requested to review, organize repairs, and improve the quality of workers' dormitories and apartments.
