Article 7 of the Law on Personal Data Protection 2025 (effective from January 1, 2026) stipulates the following prohibited acts:
1. Processing personal data aims to fight against the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, affecting national defense, security, social order and safety, the legitimate rights and interests of agencies, organizations and individuals.
2. Impeding personal data protection activities.
3. Taking advantage of personal data protection activities to commit illegal acts.
4. Processing personal data in violation of the law.
5. Using other people's personal data, letting others use their personal data to commit acts contrary to the provisions of law.
6. Buying and selling personal data, except where otherwise provided by law.
7. Seizure, intentional disclosure, or loss of personal data shall comply with the above regulations.
Thus, the prohibitions on personal data protection are stipulated as above.
