Conditions for teachers to rent public housing

Point d, Clause 1, Article 45 of the 2023 Housing Law stipulates the subjects and conditions for renting official housing as follows:

1. Subjects eligible to rent public housing include:

d) Teachers, doctors, and medical staff working in rural areas, remote communes, areas with especially difficult socio-economic conditions, border areas, and islands;

Clause 4, Article 30 of Decree No. 95/2024/ND-CP detailing a number of articles of the Housing Law stipulates the conditions for renting official housing as follows:

4. For subjects specified in Point c and Point d, Clause 1, Article 45 of the Housing Law, the following conditions must be met:

a) There is a decision to mobilize, rotate, second or assign to work in areas as prescribed in Point c or Point d, Clause 1, Article 45 of the Housing Law;

b) Meet the housing difficulties as prescribed in Point b, Clause 2 of this Article; in case of being assigned to work in rural areas in the plains and midlands, the work must be outside the district level and the distance from the place of residence to the work place must be 30 km or more.

In case of working in remote rural areas with especially difficult socio-economic conditions, border areas, and islands, the provincial People's Committee shall prescribe the distance appropriate to the actual situation of each area, but the distance from one's residence to the workplace must be at least 10 km.

Point b, Clause 2, Article 30 of Decree No. 95/2024/ND-CP detailing a number of articles of the Housing Law stipulates the conditions for renting official housing as follows:

2. For the subjects specified in Point b, Clause 1, Article 45 of the Housing Law, the following conditions must be met:

b) Belonging to the category of not owning a house and not renting, renting or buying social housing at the place of work or having owned a house at the place of work but having an average housing area in the household of less than 20 m2 of floor space/person.

Thus, the conditions for teachers to rent public housing are according to the above regulations.
