Clause 4, Article 18 of the Law on Road Traffic Order and Safety 2024 (effective from January 1, 2025) stipulates that drivers of vehicles participating in road traffic are not allowed to stop or park at the following locations:
a) Left side of one-way street;
b) On a curve or near the top of a slope where visibility is obstructed;
c) On bridges, except in cases permitted by traffic organizations;
d) Under overpasses, except for places where stopping and parking are allowed;
d) Parallel in the same direction as another vehicle that is stopped or parked on the road;
e) Less than 20 meters from a car parked in the opposite direction on a narrow street,
under 40 meters on a road with one lane of motor vehicles in one direction;
g) On the pedestrian crossing;
h) At intersections and within 05 meters from the edge of the intersection;
i) Pick-up and drop-off points;
k) In front of the gate and within 05 meters on both sides of the gate of the headquarters of the agency or organization, there is a road for vehicles to enter and exit;
l) Where the road section is only wide enough for one lane of motor vehicles;
m) Within the safety range of the railway;
n) Obscuring road signs and traffic lights;
o) On bus lanes, on drainage manholes, telephone or high voltage power lines, on fire trucks' water intake areas; on roadsides or sidewalks in violation of the law.
Thus, from January 1, 2025, the locations where stopping and parking are not allowed are as specified above.
