Regulations on preliminary health screening for military service in 2025

Lao Dong Newspaper Legal Consulting Office replied:

Article 7 of Circular 105/2023/ stipulating health standards and health examinations for subjects under the management of the Ministry of National Defense stipulates the preliminary health selection for military service as follows:

1. Commune-level health stations conduct preliminary military service health screening under the direction and professional guidance of the district-level health center or district-level general hospital; and supervision of the district-level military command.

2. Health screening content

a) Exploit personal and family medical history;

b) Detect cases of physical inadequacy, deformities, and malformations as prescribed in Section I, Section II, Appendix I issued with this Circular; diseases exempted from military service registration as prescribed in Section III, Appendix I issued with this Circular.

3. Health screening process

a) Based on the selection and call-up plan of citizens for military service of the district-level Military Service Council, the Commune-level Military Command shall make a list and call for preliminary examination for citizens subject to medical examination to perform military service in the management area;

b) Organize health screening according to regulations in Clause 2 of this Article;

c) Complete health information of citizens called for preliminary health examination to perform military service according to Form 2 Appendix V issued with this Circular;

d) Make a list of citizens suffering from diseases on the list of diseases exempted from military service registration according to Section III of Appendix I issued with this Circular, and report to the Commune-level Military Service Council;

d) Synthesize, compile statistics, and report the results of the health screening according to Form 2a; Form 2k Appendix VI issued with this Circular.

Thus, the preliminary health screening for military service in 2025 is regulated as above.
