Article 26 of the Law on Identification 2023 (effective from July 1, 2024) stipulates the time limit for issuance, renewal, and re-issuance of identification cards as follows:
Within 7 working days from the date of receipt of complete documents according to the provisions of this Law, the identification management agency must issue, replace, and re-issue identification cards.
Article 27 of the Law on Identification 2023 stipulates where to carry out procedures for issuance, replacement, and re-issuance of identification cards as follows:
1. Identification management agency of the Police of districts, towns, provincial cities, centrally run cities or ID management agency of the Provincial Police, centrally run city where citizens reside.
2. Identification management agency of the Ministry of Public Security for cases decided by the head of the identification management agency of the Ministry of Public Security.
3. In case of necessity, the identification management agency specified in Clauses 1 and 2 of this Article shall organize procedures for issuance of identification cards at communes, wards, towns, agencies, units or at residences. of citizens.

1. Thus, the time limit for reissuing an ID card is 7 working days from the date of receipt of complete documents according to regulations.
