From the perspective of the Le Hong Phong High School for the Gifted exam (District 5), candidate Nguyen Vuong Xuan Yen (Di An, Binh Duong) assessed that the exam did not cause surprises and was suitable for candidates.
The Reading section includes excerpts from a section of the poem Con Duong by Te Hanh. I find the exam short but profound, emotional, and easy to inspire writing. The questions are not too difficult, students with a firm grasp of knowledge can do well.
For the Social argumentation question, Xuan Yen said that the question is close, referring to the ability to distinguish between right and wrong, helping students directly related to their own experiences to do the test.
"I have given my personal perspective in this section, then analyzed the causes and solutions from the perspective of education and social awareness," Xuan Yen said.
Contestant Dao Minh Uyen (Phu Yen province) commented that the Literature exam is not too difficult but has high differentiation, requiring candidates to have a good grasp of knowledge to do the test well.
"In general, the exam questions are good, closely following the sample questions given by the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City before, being suggestive and creating conditions for students to freely express their personal thoughts and views," Minh Uyen shared.
Commenting on this year's Literature exam, teacher Vo Kim Bao - Literature teacher, Nguyen Du Secondary School (District 1) - said that the exam has a structure and content that ensures the requirements of the 2018 General Education Program, but is still highly differentiated, clearly demonstrated in question 1d (understanding social life), question 2 part 1 (literary experience, language skills and creativity), question 2 part 2 (understanding social life).
The content of the test is very familiar and suitable for students' age, with high openness, students will certainly not feel pressured but have many good, unique, and creative ideas during the test.
According to Mr. Bao, the exam promises to have breakthrough, creative entries, attractive content and impress the judges.
However, Mr. Bao also said that achieving a high score is not easy. "If students are average and study on target (kwards and abilities development), they can achieve at least 6.5 to 7 points. But an average student, who does not study in the right direction, has the habit of relying on the exam, learning from a maternal culture will not be able to have quality lessons," said teacher Vo Kim Bao.
In the afternoon, candidates continued to take the Foreign Language exam for 90 minutes.
The 2025 10th grade entrance exam in Ho Chi Minh City will take place on June 6 - 7 with 76,435 students taking the exam. The total enrollment target of public high schools is 70,070 students. This year's 10th grade exam is the first exam according to the 2018 general education program.
Candidates will take 3 subjects: Math, Literature (120 minutes/subject) and Foreign Language (90 minutes, according to foreign language 1 being studied at school). Candidates who register for a specialized school or integrated class will take an additional exam in a specialized subject or equivalent integrated (150 minutes).
The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training said it has planned 142 exam locations (including 132 regular exam locations and 10 specialized exam locations) with 3,558 exam rooms; mobilized more than 10,000 teachers to be exam officers and 2,070 service staff.
At each exam location, 3 more reserve rooms are arranged to handle special cases that arise.
