The soldier breathed a sigh of relief
Nguyen Quynh Anh - a 9th grade student at Trung Vuong Secondary School (Me Linh, Hanoi) felt "as if the pressure was relieved" when hearing that English was the 3rd subject in the upcoming 10th grade entrance exam.
Many provinces and cities have previously chosen Foreign Language as the third subject, so female students have proactively reviewed Math, Literature, and English. However, I am always afraid that the third subject will be a combined exam.
"Many years ago, Hanoi still organized exams for 3 compulsory subjects: Math, Literature, Foreign Language. Therefore, not only me but many students also want English as their third subject. Finally, I hope that wish has come true" - she expressed.
Similarly, Kieu Nhat Minh - a 9th grade student at Tam Dong Secondary School (Me Linh, Hanoi) breathed a sigh of relief when Hanoi announced the 3rd exam subject.
"The subjects have been announced. This helps me and my students feel secure, focus on reviewing, and prepare best for the exam in the last months" - Nhat Minh shared.
Be careful in reviewing for exams and registering wishes
According to the plan of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, the 2025 10th grade entrance exam will take place on June 7-8, three days earlier than last year.
This school year, Hanoi has about 127,000 secondary school graduates, down nearly 6,000 compared to last year. The total target for public schools is 79,000. Thus, the rate of students passing public high school is more than 62%.
Giving advice to candidates and parents, Ms. Nguyen Thi Nhiep - Principal of Chu Van An High School for the Gifted said that they must know how to calculate and invest in review to promote strengths and increase capacity in weak subjects.
"In each test, students must know where they were wrong and find out why they made the mistake. You can ask your friend and then ask your teacher to know this clearly. When they are proactive like that, they will not make the same mistake.
Another thing is to clearly know what each subject has to do with high scores. As with Math, the tournament step cannot be missed. Because even if the results are correct but the solutions are not complete, the students can have their points deducted" - Ms. Nhiep shared.
As every year, students can register up to 3 wishes to enter public high schools. In which, wishes 1 and 2 must belong to the enrollment area, wishes 3 of any. Candidates are not allowed to change their wishes after registration.
Mr. Nghiem Van Binh - Deputy Head of the Department in charge of the Department of Education Quality Management and Assessment, Hanoi Department of Education and Training noted that students who are admitted for aspiration 1 will not be admitted for aspiration 2 or aspiration 3. Students who do not pass the first wish list will be considered for the second wish list.
"There is no such thing as high scores, all 3 wishes are passed" - Mr. Binh said and advised candidates that when choosing wishes, they must have the support of parents and schools that are suitable for their abilities and family conditions, not according to the majority and tastes of friends.
