At the information session about the Ho Chi Minh City Ao Dai Festival 2025 on the evening of February 27, Ms. Nguyen Thi Anh Hoa - Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism said that this year's festival is one of the key activities towards celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025).

According to Ms. Nguyen Cam Tu - Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Promotion Center, the 11th Ho Chi Minh City Ao Dai Festival in 2025 with the theme of Ao Dai Vietnam - Rising Vietnam will take place from March 1 to 9 with a series of diverse activities at locations such as President Ho Chi Minh Monument Park and Nguyen Hue Street, Lam Son Park, historical relics, cultural relics, tourist destinations...
Notable activities in this year's event include the opening ceremony; Ao Dai folk dance performance with about 3,000 participants on Nguyen Hue walking street and more than 50,000 people at destinations of 21 districts, towns and Thu Duc City; traditional costume parade; exhibition space and interaction with Ao Dai; new Ao Dai and metro tourist route...
The 2025 Ho Chi Minh City Ao Dai Festival will be accompanied by the image ambassadors of more than 30 guests and celebrities working in many fields such as politics, economics, beauty queens, singers, actors; 53 Ao Dai designers from many localities across the country will also participate in this year's festival with collections expressing unique cultural identities.
This festival will be an important bridge to bring Vietnam up and integrate into the world, continuing to affirm its important role in preserving and promoting the traditional cultural values of the Vietnamese ao dai.

In addition, the event also has a positive impact on the socio-economy, stimulating tourism, promoting the development of the fashion, handicraft and service industries. Thereby, opening up opportunities for businesses to access the market, increasing cooperation and development opportunities.
According to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism, this year's Ao Dai Festival is an occasion to celebrate important historical milestones of the nation such as the 1985 Hai Ba Trung uprising, the 115th anniversary of International Women's Day (March 8, 2010 - March 8, 2025), the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025).
The event also aims to effectively and successfully organize activities and events in response to major holidays in Ho Chi Minh City. Thereby, contributing to achieving the goal set by the city's tourism industry of welcoming 8.5 million international visitors and 45 million domestic visitors, with a total estimated revenue of VND260,000 billion, accounting for 13% of Ho Chi Minh City's GRDP.
