Dr. Meritorious Artist Bui Nhu Lai used to be an actor in the Youth Theater. He worked with the Youth Theater with artists such as People's Artist Anh Tu, People's Artist Le Khanh, Meritorious Artist Chi Trung... for a long time, then switched to studying stage directing, became the Head of the Physical Drama Troupe, then the Head of Drama Troupe 1 of the Youth Theater.
After leaving the Youth Theater, Meritorious Artist Bui Nhu Lai moved to teach at the Hanoi University of Theatre and Cinema. He is currently the Vice Principal of the school.
