In 2018, the Korea Music Content Industry Association implemented a new certification system for album sales, song downloads, and streaming.
Starting with music released on or after January 1, 2018, Circle Chart now certifies albums platinum upon reaching sales of 250,000 copies, while albums that have sold one million copies or more receive a "million seller" certification.
This month, ATEEZ achieved two separate certifications for their latest mini album “GOLDEN HOUR: Part.2.” The regular version of the mini album received an official million certification for selling over 1 million copies, while the POCA version was certified platinum after selling over 250,000 copies.
TXT's "The Star Chapter: SANCTUARY", aespa's "Whiplash", NCT DREAM's "DREAMSCAPE", and ENHYPEN's "ROMANCE : UNTOLD -daydream-" have all achieved official million seller certifications, selling over 1 million copies each.
BTS' Jin's first solo album "Happy" has achieved triple platinum certification with over 750,000 copies sold since its release.
Meanwhile, the Nemo version of Baby Monster's first full-length album "Drip" achieved double platinum certification for over 500,000 copies sold.
Red Velvet's Irene's debut solo mini album "Like A Flower", TWS's "Last Bell", and WayV's "FREQUENCY" all achieved platinum certifications after selling over 250,000 copies each.
Finally, in the streaming category, BTS' Jungkook's "Seven" (featuring Latto), BE'O's "LOVE me," and Jung Dong Ha's "I Still Love You" were all certified platinum after surpassing 100 million streams.
