The performance of contestant Pham Cao Long in the TV show "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire" aired on the evening of November 26 received much attention. Mr. Long, a retired teacher from Hai Duong, excellently answered 13 questions of the show correctly.
In question 14, which was about the portrait of Uncle Ho by author Le Ngoc, Mr. Pham Cao Long deduced the correct answer. However, due to the lack of support, this player decided to stop playing and took home a check worth 80 million VND (the prize in question 13).
Faced with an excellent player, MC Dinh Tien Dung and the program crew decided to present a hypothetical situation for teacher Long to experience answering the 15th question. Regardless of whether he answered correctly or incorrectly, Mr. Long still walked away with a prize of 80 million VND.
However, when seeing the question and the answers to choose from, the player from Hai Duong chose an answer according to "the number he liked" because he had never heard any information related to this question. Teacher Pham Cao Long's answer did not match the program's answer.
Thus, it has been 19 years since the first "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire" show was broadcast, and until now no one has conquered the final question - the 15th question.
Editor Diep Chi - the program's director - shared the moment the room held its breath watching Pham Cao Long's performance. She said: "It's been a long time since I've had this range of emotions."
Meanwhile, player Pham Cao Long expressed his joy and said that the results he just achieved on the show were "so-so".
On social networks, many viewers expressed admiration for Mr. Long's knowledge as well as regret for this player when he could not pass question 14 despite his correct hunch.
