On the afternoon of December 2, at the film premiere for the media in Ho Chi Minh City, Anh Tu Atus attracted attention when he first shared details about his role in the movie "The Prince of the Devil". The actor said that as soon as he took the script, he immediately took it home to read with his wife Dieu Nhi and both were "very excited" about the mysterious, historical story.
Anh Tu Atus said that Dieu Nhi was the one who sat reading the script with her husband, giving interesting details, helping him see more clearly the psychological journey of the character. "My wife pointed out many very good scenes in the script, especially the inner scenes. The couple discussed withdrawing, so when I entered the set, I felt like I had lived with the character before, he shared with reporters.
When asked about the intimate scenes with the female co-star in the film, Anh Tu Atus said that he was not worried because his wife knew everything well from the beginning.
"During the past, she did not pay too much attention to those scenes, she mainly cared about how I played, whether the character was convincing or not. That makes me feel more secure when playing the role, said Anh Tu Atus.
In "The Prince of the Devil", inspired by the novel "The Legend of the Condor Heroes" by Phan Cuong, Anh Tu Atus plays Than Duc - a character with half- human, half-devil blood, standing between good and evil. Returning to the big screen after two years, he saw this as a turning point when he took on the role of a villain for the first time. I was excited to play a villain for the first time. The character has many layers, both fierce and lonely, completely different from previous roles in modern settings, the actor added.
The producer said that the important criterion when choosing an actor is the ability to handle heavy internal segments, expressing the fierce events in the character's fate. The director assessed that Anh Tu Atus had "complete transformation", finding a balance between the "person" and the "devil" parts in Than Duc, helping the character not to be discolored.
Anh Tu Atus, 33 years old, studied at the University of Theatre and Cinema in Ho Chi Minh City, had time to work part-time at the studio, drive a car, and make tea to make ends meet. He was noticed from the short film "Hanoi, I love you", then gradually appeared in cinema and the stage with the plays "Tranh Tinh Bangkok", "My Man Dai Duong" and a series of films such as "Cua lai vo dau", "Chi Muoi Ba: Ba don gian sinh tu", "Supper duoc met ngan cong lu", "Gap lai chi dau", participated in the reality show "Anh trai say hi". In 2022, Anh Tu Atus married actress Dieu Nhi after nearly 10 years of association.
