Recently, rumors that Rose (Blackpink) is dating the male lead of the MV "Toxic till the end" Evan Mock caused a stir.
In the MV, the couple had many intimate scenes and exchanged kisses, making Kpop fans crazy. Last weekend, they were spotted together at Rose’s “rosie” album launch party in New York (USA).
According to SCMP, "Evan Mock is a multi-talented person, he is not only an actor but also a skateboarder, photographer and model who has worked with major brands."
Evan Mock was born in 1997 (the same age as Rose) to an American father and a Filipino mother. Mock grew up in Waimea Bay, Hawaii, so he has been interested in surfing and skateboarding since he was a child.
Evan Mock grew up in a very comfortable environment. He describes it as “a dream”, because he was homeschooled, “surfing when the weather was nice and studying whenever”.
Mock emphasized that the people around him since he was a child had a great influence and shaped who he is today.
“It’s an island and there’s not much to do, so surfing is always a great thing. Being around the best surfers in the world, the best underwater photographers, the best filmmakers, all that stuff – it got me interested in how things are done.
They were all older than me and ahead of their time, so I felt like I was learning a lot. And all of that translated into photography and filmmaking,” Mock told Vogue in 2021.
At the age of 18, Evan Mock moved to California to focus on his professional skateboarding career, before moving to New York.
In 2019, American artist Tom Sachs recorded a short video of Evan Mock skateboarding and sent it to his friend, singer Frank Ocean. Frank posted Mock's video online, turning him into an overnight social media star.
Mock wanted to get into the fashion industry and had the opportunity to walk for major fashion brands such as Louis Vuitton, Saint Laurent, Calvin Klein, Dior, Bulgari.
He then launched his own fashion collection with RVCA, a specialist in surf and skateboarding apparel. Evan also has his own brand, Sorry In Advance, which produces baseball caps and hoodies.
His brand has collaborated with Justin Bieber's Drew House to launch a streetwear line. Evan and Justin are also friends in real life.
As a photographer, Evan Mock was offered a two-week job by rapper Travis Scott, taking photos and documenting behind-the-scenes moments during Travis' 2019 Astroworld Europe tour.
In 2021, Evan Mock branched out into acting and gained global attention for his role as Akeno “Aki” Menzies on HBO Max’s “Gossip Girl.” The role made him famous for his signature pink hair, which was later recreated in Rose’s “Toxic till the end” music video.
Next year, he will return to the screen with two new film projects, “Headhunters” and “Marked Men: Rule & Shaw”.
Like Rose suffering from her ex-lover and a toxic relationship, Evan Mock also confided that he wanted to erase the memory of being cheated on by his ex-girlfriend in high school.
Around mid-2020, Evan Mock developed a romantic relationship with photographer Gray Sorrenti. In mid-2021, they moved in together in New York City.
Evan and Gray have kept a low profile throughout their relationship, rarely appearing together in public or sharing details on social media.
By October 2023, the couple was confirmed to have broken up, when Gray publicly dated Romeo Beckham.
