The event was chaired by the Ministry of Home Affairs and Safety of Korea, in coordination with the Korean Volunteer and Charity Council, to recognize individuals and organizations that have made positive contributions to charity activities since 2021.
In a speech sent to the awards ceremony, BTS said they felt "admitted" that the "Love Myself" campaign had a clear social impact, and affirmed that the award is a recognition for all those who have accompanied the message "love yourself and love the world". The group sent special thanks to the fans - ARMY community, who have co-created and maintained the campaign for many years.
Released in 2017, Love Myself marked the first time a K-pop artist has officially collaborated with the UNICEF Korea Commission. The campaign aims to prevent violence and support mental health for children and adolescents in 155 countries and territories. According to UNICEF, related programs have reached more than 100 million people worldwide through communication, education and professional support services.
With the participation of BTS, ARMY and record label BIGHIT MUSIC, the campaign raised about 9.2 billion won, accounting for nearly 15% of UNICEF's total child protection fund. Thanks to its long-term and continuous contributions, BTS is considered UNICEF's largest private partner in the field of global child protection. In addition to humanitarian activities, the group has been recognized many times at international awards and forums for its efforts in spreading positive values, encouraging the younger generation to participate in building a healthy community.
In the country, the group also maintains the image of a sociably responsible artist through many campaigns to raise awareness and contribute to community organizations. The new achievements at the Korean Charity Awards continue to reflect the level of influence BTS has overcome the music scope.
The group is currently preparing for a global tour associated with a new album scheduled to be released in the spring of next year. This is considered an important milestone, marking the process of reunion and return to full operation after the military service period of the members.
