During the 2026 Lunar New Year, many families and groups of friends choose river buses to enjoy spring and admire the scenery on both sides of the Saigon River. Ms. Minh Anh (Binh Phu ward) shared that instead of strolling around the city center by motorbike like every year, her family chose river buses to have a new experience.

Meanwhile, Mr. David (a tourist from Korea) said that this is the first time he has visited Ho Chi Minh City by waterway.

Talking to Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Nguyen Kim Toan - Director of Thuong Nhat Company, the owner of Saigon WaterBus and WaterGO, said that the number of river bus passengers maintains stable growth over the years, with an average annual increase of about 10-15% compared to the same period.
According to Mr. Nguyen Kim Toan, during Tet, the routes are still operating throughout to serve people and tourists to visit and experience.
The Saigon River has now become the central river, carrying the radius of a large city, connecting the expanded Ho Chi Minh City space. The river is not only valuable for transportation but also a symbol of the city's identity.
On holidays, Tet or peak tourist seasons, when tourists come to the city, they all want to experience the river. We always strive to develop more unique river and water programs and products, ensuring safety, in order to best serve the needs of people and tourists" - Mr. Toan emphasized.
