On September 1, information from Lao Cai International Border Gate Border Guard Station showed that the number of visitors on the first day of the National Day holiday, September 2, reached about 3,000.
To ensure security and order for residents and tourists, authorities have increased the number of personnel to the maximum, supporting visitors to enter and exit the country smoothly.
In contrast to the first day, on the second day of the 4-day-long September 2nd holiday, the number of visitors coming to the Lao Cai International Border Gate Management Center, waiting to complete exit procedures to travel to China, was only 1/10 of the first day.
Immigration procedures were also carried out very quickly and smoothly, and visitors did not encounter the jostling like yesterday (August 31).
“Airfares for many domestic flights during the holidays are too expensive, not to mention the fear of crowds when traveling domestically, so my family chose the Dali - Kunming tour for 3 days and 2 nights at a price of more than 5 million VND/person.
Fortunately, today Lao Cai International Border Gate is no longer as crowded as the first day, and exit procedures are also carried out quickly," said Ms. Nguyen Thi Lan, a tourist from Hanoi.
According to the Lao Cai International Border Gate Border Guard Station, from the second day off, the number of tourists and people passing through the border gate will gradually decrease, averaging 200 - 300 people/day.
Similar to Lao Cai International Border Gate, all activities at Lao Cai Station on the second day of the National Day holiday on September 2nd also went smoothly. The number of passengers arriving at the station was not as crowded as on August 31st, making it easier for people to travel.
According to Lao Dong's records at some tourist attractions such as Mau Temple, Thuong Temple..., the number of visitors has increased but not too crowded. The authorities have divided into many working groups to ensure security and order during the National Day holiday on September 2.
According to Lao Cai Department of Tourism, in the first 8 months of 2024, Lao Cai province welcomed more than 5.6 million tourists, an increase of 14.35% compared to the same period last year. Total revenue reached 15,851/27,200 billion VND of the year's plan. In 2023, Lao Cai welcomed more than 7.2 million visitors, with total revenue from tourism reaching over 22,000 billion VND.
