Located on the route from Lao Cai city to Y Ty commune, the bend in A Lu commune, Bat Xat district, at the end of August, becomes a destination that fascinates many tourists because of its picturesque scenery. Surrounded by mountains, on both sides of the road are terraced fields in the ripening season, turning from green to brilliant yellow, making the winding road even more captivating to tourists.
Recently, many tourists coming to Y Ty to hunt for the ripe rice season and the sea of clouds have stopped to admire the scenery at this special bend. One of them is Hoang Gia Huy, a tourism worker in Ha Giang - Cao Bang, who stopped by to take pictures.
Huy's videos and photos shared on the travel group attracted thousands of likes and hundreds of comments. People who have never been here are eager to ask for directions and want to check in once because this enchanting scene only appears once a year during the rice harvest season.
To get here, if starting from Sa Pa town, visitors go in the direction of Ban Xeo, Muong Hum towards Ngai Thau to A Lu commune. Currently, this route is being renovated and upgraded, quite difficult to travel if you are not familiar with the rocky terrain.
New visitors are warned that the road between Sa Pa and Muong Hum has some landslides, so be careful when driving. In addition, visitors can travel from Lao Cai city to Kim Thanh and Trinh Tuong, then to Lung Po to reach A Lu commune.
Both routes are about 90km long. However, the road is bumpy and has many muddy sections, so the travel time is up to 4-5 hours. Visitors should note that motorbikes and high-chassis cars can travel.
Currently, the terraced fields in Y Ty and Bat Xat are ripe and in harvest season. Nguyen Trong Dai, a tourist from Hanoi, shared: "On the national roads in Y Ty and Bat Xat, some fields have been harvested, near the rocky outcrop. In the Then Pa valley area, going to Thien Sinh bridge, the rice has just turned yellow, there is still a lot. The fields in Choan Then village may ripen after the September 2nd holiday."
