The Lunar New Year is the most important holiday for all children of Buddha. This is not only an occasion for us to commemorate the three great events in the life of Buddha Shakyamuni: sinh - Thanh dao - Nhat Bai, but also a day of convergence of global spiritual culture, where humanity together turns towards the common values of Buddhist reasoning: compassion, intelligence and peace for today's world.

At the ceremony, the Venerable Thich Thanh Nhon - Permanent Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Buddhist Church Council read the message of the Great Buddha Birthday 2569 of the Dharma Church of the Vietnam Buddhist Church. The message stated that this year is a very great meaning for Vietnamese Buddhism and Vietnamese people. This is the first time the Vietnam Buddhist Church has organized the Vesak United Nations ceremony in Ho Chi Minh City on the occasion of the whole country is jubilant to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the national liberation and reunification of the country (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025).

"In this year's Vesak ceremony, we are extremely blessed to be invited, worship the relics of the Buddha Shakyamuni, the Indian national treasure and the invaluable sacred treasure of humanity. In a respectful and solemn atmosphere, delegates, monks, Buddhists and thousands of people attended traditional Buddhist rituals such as: offering incense, praying, bathing in the Buddha... with the hope that the nation would be nationwide, the people would be safe and everyone would have good health.
Also at the ceremony, the Organizing Committee presented 200 gifts to support students in difficult circumstances in Ninh Binh province and distributed nearly 5,000 free meals to the people.
