In the near future, Quynh Kool will return to the small screen with the film "The Wind Across the Blue Sky" buying the script rights of the film "30 Not yet". The actress had a conversation with reporters to share stories about her career and artistic activities.
Quynh Kool returns to the screen after 1 year since the movie "We of 8 Years Later". Are you under pressure to perform better when the role of teacher Nguyet in the previous film left an impression?
- I usually try to make 2 films a year, at the beginning of the year and the end of the year. For about a year, I received an invitation, but due to being busy with personal matters, I had to refuse. Therefore, I feel a lot of pressure because the role of teacher Nguyet has already left a certain mark. I want to return to a real character so that the audience can see the innovation in me.
When I was called up for audition, I asked the director to let me take on the role of Lam - a carefree, innocent girl. It's been a long time since I've played this type of role. The roles in "Don't say love", "Happy garage" or "Don't be angry with me" all have hurt and incidents. After taking on characters with unfortunate fates, I wanted to return with a more positive and cheerful role.
In the film "The Wind Rings the Blue Sky", Quynh Kool co-starred for the first time with actor To Dung. What is special about this collaboration between you and your seniors?
- The first time I met him, I thought Mr. Dung was a tough person. I said that Mr. Dung is identical to the character Toan - a hard-working, frugal, patriarchal person. When acting with him, I found him to be a professional and analyzed the character very well. There were times when I lost emotions, and To Dung was the one who helped me balance. Thanks to him, I can do my role well.
This was also the second time I played a woman with a broken marriage. Because Lam is a girl who is too carefree and refuses to grow up, sometimes her innocence leads to troubles in life. Meanwhile, Toan is a difficult, secretive husband who worries about life.
In his career, Quynh Kool has acted in films with many male co-stars, from Thanh Son, B Tran and now To Dung. How do co-stars give you different impressions and how do you react when the audience is often "combined together"?
- Each actor is a different color. When acting as husband and wife with B Tran, the two acted in harmony and were close. Mr. To Dung brought the image of a mature, strong man. In the film, I have many love lines, but only have two husbands on screen.
Dung and I played a couple but left a mark, so I thought the audience would not pair us in real life. As for Mr. B Tran and I, we have known each other for a long time, played together in a group of close friends and often met a group of friends. Maybe people often "ship" me with my co-star, so I am still single (laughs).
At the age of 30, Quynh Kool has gone through many difficult roles in love and marriage, has your perspective on love life changed?
- I learned many lessons for myself through the roles. With the character Lam, I realized that my husband and I have to share the small things in life. Small details are considered un importanced, but they can also decide whether a marriage is happy or not. When the two no longer want to talk to each other, the couple will be more distant and conflictate.
At first, I was also afraid of being in love because I was afraid of being caught up in conflicts and emotional disruption. But when I got married, I thought I wasn't ready to enter married life. I also hope that if we get married, she and I can share and listen to each other.
Many people come to movies to become famous, to have a good economy, to be recognized as effective. For Quynh Kool, what is acting for you?
- Surely, the audience has seen my maturity. Since I was 18 years old, I have been in the profession and now I am 30 years old, I have matured and have more experience through each role. However, I still maintain my innocence and positive energy.
Now, being able to work and contribute is my great happiness. Many people often say that actors sacrifice for their roles, but for me, it is dedication to my character.
