Adapted from the novel of the same name by author Thanh Mien, the Chinese film - "Suyet The King is Sleeping in the Winter" revolves around the love story of comic book artist Wei Zhi (Ngu Thu Han) and coach Thien Sung (Lam Nhat).
The film officially aired on March 11 and achieved good results when breaking the 6,300 heat point mark on Youku, 34 advertisements, a total of 359 seconds, from 10 brands in the first 4 episodes.
Initially, the film Suyt Vua Dung Tinh was praised for its beautiful scenes, attractive fashion, good chemistry, and the handsome appearance of the main couple. Telling the story of skiing and comic painting scored points with a part of the audience.
However, after 10 episodes, the film is caught up in some mixed opinions. In particular, the development was too fast (due to the film being cut 13 episodes compared to the original) leading to the climaxes being resolved urgently, including the noisy tranhel over comic book rights at the beginning of the film.
Along with that, Yu Shuxin's acting is becoming a topic of discussion. Although the actress's character Ve Chi is praised for being cute, her acting is criticized for being punctual.
Viewers believe that Ngu Thu Han acted in a guessing manner, acting in every film shows her innocentness but looking back at it feels fake. Her overuse of lip-syncing, cheek swelling or somewhat sour dialogue caused the character to lose points.
However, some other audiences believe that the Chinese star represented the true way Wei Zhi was built - a cute girl with a characteristic innocent appearance. The expressions, charisma, and body language all exude a lovely look, suitable for the role.
Ngu Thu Han's appearance was already in the style of " lovely innocent sister" so she was quite suitable on screen. At the same time, they thought that Ngu Thu Han's controversy arose from the film script being too simple, causing viewers to focus more on the actress's acting.
Currently, the producer and Yu Shuxin have not responded to the controversy.
