At dawn on January 3, at the 3,143m peak, the temperature at the top of Fansipan dropped to -5 degrees Celsius. A layer of ice about 5mm thick covered milestones, railings, and large rocks. This is the second time this winter that the temperature at the “roof of Indochina” has dropped below 0 degrees Celsius.
The cold air covered the area but did not reduce the excitement of tourists. Many tourists were very surprised and delighted when they were lucky enough to reach the top of Fansipan on the day there was ice. They even took advantage of the remaining ice to create funny snowmen, or wrote down words and numbers to mark the special day.
Ms. Thu Huyen (Hanoi) was one of the first visitors to reach the top of Fansipan on the morning of January 3. She shared: "From the beginning of the season until now, I had to wait until the second time to reach here to have the chance to touch the ice. You should definitely come to Fansipan once to see this dreamlike scene."
In addition to admiring the sparkling ice on the top of Fansipan, visitors here also have the opportunity to experience the mysterious spiritual space in the middle of majestic nature. Majestic works such as the Great Amitabha Buddha Statue, the curved temple roof in the sea of clouds, and the La Han road under the shade of ancient rhododendron trees are special highlights in the journey to conquer the "roof of Indochina".
