According to the Center, this is a rare incident, although in recent times this unit has implemented many solutions to ensure the security of heritage areas such as: Strengthening the installation of surveillance cameras, developing regulations on assigning security guards, organizing mobile forces to regularly inspect relic sites.
To prevent similar incidents, in the coming time, the Center will develop a plan to ensure closer security and safety in the heritage area, especially for artifacts and antiques, especially national treasures. Concentrated solutions include: Strengthening security equipment and support tools; improving protection capacity, training on situation handling; detecting and preventing early signs of suspicion.
For the Nguyen Dynasty throne alone, the Center will invite experts and artisans to evaluate and develop a suitable restoration plan; at the same time, increase forces and means to ensure the safety of the display system.
As reported by Lao Dong Newspaper, on May 24, at Thai Hoa Palace (Hue Imperial City), Ho Van Phuong T (born in 1983, residing in Huong Long Ward, Phu Xuan District, Hue City) committed an act of violating national treasures - the throne of the Nguyen Dynasty.
Around 11h55, T bought tickets to visit the inner city, then showed abnormal expression in the Thai Hoa Palace. Despite being reminded by the security guard, the subject continued to penetrate the throne display area, screaming and breaking the left arm of the throne. The security guard promptly controlled and reported the incident to the Dong Ba Ward Police.
