The 3rd National Press Award on Agriculture, Farmers and Rural Areas of Vietnam - 2025 is chaired by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Union in coordination with the Vietnam Journalists' Association; Nong Thon Ngay/ Dan Viet Newspaper is assigned to coordinate with the Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development of Vietnam (Agribank) to directly organize.
According to the Organizing Committee of the Award, as of November 15, 2025 - the end of the contest entrance period - the Organizing Committee has received 1,866 valid entries of all genres from central and local press agencies and non-professional authors. Of which: Print and electronic newspapers have about 1,300 works; radio and television about 566 works. Many press agencies have a relatively large number of entries such as newspapers: Vietnam Television - VTV, Voice of Vietnam - VOV, Vietnam News Agency, Nhan Dan, Lao Dong, Vietnam Law, Tien Phong, Dan Ho, Thanh Nien, Ho Chi Minh City Radio and Television Station, Vinh Long Provincial Radio and Television, Nghe An Newspaper and Television, Lao Cai Newspaper and Television Radio; Ca Mau Radio and Television...
After the selection process, the Preliminary Board selected the 60 best works for the Final round. Next, the Final Round Council gave independent judges, then met and selected the 34 best works to award 2 A prizes, 4 B prizes, 6 C prizes, 10 Encouragement prizes and 12 Special prizes. Each A prize will receive a prize of up to 50 million VND.
The Organizing Committee's assessment shows that most of the entries in the contest have deeply reflected the transition from traditional agricultural production to a multi-value economic model, green agriculture, circular economy, typical model. There have been many excellent works focusing on writing and reflecting on the model of a new, civilized, modern farmer, portraits of excellent Vietnamese farmers, inspiring. There are also a series of articles expressing the concern of journalists about the conflicts that are arising in the new context of the current tamarind sector.
In addition to those bright spots, journalists also show their commitment, not afraid of hardship and danger to conduct a series of "heavy- weighted" exclusive investigations, determined to clarify the hidden corners, "dark spots" existing in the fields of agriculture, farmers and rural areas.
Journalist Nguyen Van Hoai - Editor-in-Chief of Nong Thon Ngay/ Dan Viet Newspaper, Head of the Organizing Committee of the National Press Award on Agriculture, Farmers and Rural Areas of Vietnam affirmed: "This is the third consecutive year we have organized the Award and received the support of hundreds of press agencies sending entries, which proves that agriculture is always a fertile land for reporters, journalists and press agencies to exploit. In particular, through the works sent to the participants, a very new and very modern image of farmers has been painted with many billionaire farmers and creative farmers. With the theme of rural areas, through the works participating in the contest, it can be seen that the picture of rural areas is changing strongly, from building new rural areas to advanced new rural areas, model and appearing more and more villages worth living in".
On behalf of the Organizing Committee, journalist Nguyen Van Hoai also sent his thanks to the press agencies, authors, and groups of authors who enthusiastically submitted entries. "We also want to award more awards, but according to regulations on the rules, quantity, and structure of awards, there are only limits, so it is a pity that there are many quality works but have not won this award. Incorporating the opinions of the judges, in the coming season, we will continue to research and innovate the rules and structure of the awards to be able to award more awards - journalist Nguyen Van Hoai shared.
Writing contest to learn about the 95-year tradition of the Vietnam Farmers' Union
This year, the National Press Award on Agriculture, Farmers and Rural Areas of Vietnam has a new category "Writing to learn about the 95th anniversary of the Vietnam Farmers' Union" - on the occasion of the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Farmers' Union (1930 - 2025). The writing contest was launched on April 14, 2025, and will end on November 15, 2025. The Organizing Committee and the Jury have judged, met and reached a high consensus on the 11 most deserving works to be awarded. Including 1 A prize, 2 B prizes, 3 C prizes and 5 Encouragement prizes.
The main content of the writing works is a vivid depiction of the historical milestones of the Vietnam Farmers' Union through the revolutionary stages; the great achievements of historical significance of the peasantry and the Farmers' Union organization under the leadership of the Party; the precious traditions and lessons learned from the Vietnam Farmers' Union at all levels throughout the 95-year history.
In particular, a fairly large proportion of works and articles with themes on Association activities and outstanding emulation movements of Farmers' Associations in nearly 40 years of implementing the cause of national renewal under the leadership of the Party; affirming the trust of cadres, members and farmers in the Party and the cause of national renewal; international integration. Many articles evoke the heroic memories of the Vietnam Farmers' Union before the August 1945 revolution; the resistance war against France; memories of the Farmers' Union to liberate South Vietnam; Farmers' Union to liberate Zone V (Central Highlands)...
Along with that are works that demonstrate the pioneering and pioneering atmosphere of members, farmers, and the Farmers' Union in effectively participating in the fight against hunger and poverty reduction in the early period of national reunification after 1975; the pre-reform period and the renovation period after 1986 to the present.
Notably, some works have shown perspective, demonstrated optimism, and commented on the innovation of content and methods of operation of the Vietnam Farmers' Union when it became a socio-political organization under the Vietnam Fatherland Front; in the context of the Party and State implementing breakthrough decisions, including the arrangement and streamlining of the apparatus, effectiveness and efficiency; arrangement of commune-level administrative units, removal of district-level levels, merger and consolidation from 63 provinces/cities to 34 provinces/cities...

According to the Organizing Committee, the total prize of all 3 categories and categories of the National Press Award on Agriculture, Farmers and Rural Areas in 2025 and the 95-year Traditional Learning Contest of the Vietnam Farmers' Union is 515 million VND.
