After the final round, the contest's judges said they had many debates, but all agreed that Kieu Duy won the first season of Miss Vietnam, becoming Vietnam's representative at Miss International.
Responding to the press after the final night, Ms. Pham Kim Dung - Head of the Organizing Committee of Miss Vietnam National - said that Kieu Duy's coronation was a result agreed upon by the Organizing Committee.
“Kieu Duy was chosen because she has a balanced, harmonious body, excellent intelligence, and meets the contest’s criteria of gentleness and knowledge. The judges also highly appreciate Kieu Duy’s foreign language ability, which is important when participating in Miss International,” said Ms. Kim Dung.
When asked questions, many candidates stood out in the presentation but did not make it into the top 3. Ms. Dung said that the results were based on the process, not just the presentation.
Head of the jury Pham Kim Dung also assessed Kieu Duy as a strong-willed girl, through the story she shared in the media.
“Kieu Duy grew up in a family without her parents living together. However, she is very optimistic, showing her sharing and sympathy for her parents. She believes that her parents’ happiness is the most important thing, even though they do not live together. This is a girl with a progressive mindset, showing that her victory is completely worthy,” Ms. Dung shared.
People's Artist Vuong Duy Bien - Head of the jury of Miss Vietnam National said: "Kieu Duy won the crown convincingly. To me, she is the best contestant of the competition night and the entire journey of Miss Vietnam National.
The way Kieu Duy responded and behaved showed that she had the mindset and intelligence. Throughout the whole process, plus her performance in the final night, Kieu Duy proved that she deserved the title."
The head of the jury added that the jury members proposed many different names during the final night, even arguing fiercely throughout the competition night. But at the end, the judges completely agreed with the result that Kieu Duy won the highest title, the first and second runner-up positions respectively belonged to Phuong Thanh and Cam Ly.
Historian Duong Trung Quoc - Head of the Advisory Board of Miss Vietnam 2024 - said that the judges had many concerns throughout the competition night, especially when the top 3 were revealed.
“The three contestants in the top 3, it can be said that they are evenly matched. In the final performance, they performed very well. In the end, the judges unanimously decided that Kieu Duy would be crowned after much hesitation,” said the Head of the Advisory Board of Miss Vietnam 2024.
Meritorious Artist, designer Duc Hung - a member of the jury - said that Kieu Duy's victory was completely convincing.
“Kieu Duy is an intellectual. To me, intellectual beauty is lasting beauty. Knowledge helps Kieu Duy shine. Besides knowledge, Kieu Duy has Asian and Vietnamese beauty. I am impressed when you go bare-faced. You have a friendly beauty, making people feel sympathetic. With the Miss Vietnam National contest, the Vietnamese element must be prioritized. Kieu Duy has that, a very Vietnamese beauty,” said designer Duc Hung.
Judge Duc Hung added that Kieu Duy has a traditional and modern look. Kieu Duy's beauty is considered suitable for the Miss International beauty contest. Kieu Duy's ability to speak many languages, answer questions confidently, and have an expressive voice are essential for a Vietnamese representative participating in an international beauty contest.
"What makes me happiest is that when Kieu Duy was announced as the winner, the audience was very unanimous," judge Duc Hung affirmed.
