The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Hai Phong in collaboration with the Institute of Literature under the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences organized a workshop to study and evaluate comprehensively, the system of content, ideology, art and the great values and international influence of the heritage of Trang Trinh Nguyen Binh Khiem.
Trang Trinh Nguyen Binh Khiem (1491-1585) was an outstanding son of Trung Am village, Vinh Lai district (now in Nguyen Binh Khiem commune, Hai Phong city). He is one of the outstanding figures of the 16th century, an all-round scholar with outstanding contributions in the fields of politics, ideology, education and literature.
The reign of Trinh Nguyen Binh Khiem not only left behind a huge treasure trove of Han Nom poetry to posterity, but also a heritage of enlightening Thought that is timeless. He is considered the embodiment of Vietnamese intelligence and morality, a person who combines the quintessence of scientific education with folk knowledge, expressed in his preface, preface, teachings, anecdotes and cultural life - beliefs of the people.
Speaking at the opening of the workshop, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Minh Hung emphasized that this is an important event to recognize, honor and promote the values of cultural heritage as well as the contributions of outstanding person Nguyen Binh Khiem to the history of the nation. Through this, it will supplement the scientific basis for the development of a dossier to propose UNESCO to honor Trang Trinh Nguyen Binh Khiem on the occasion of the 450th anniversary of his death (1585-2035).
At the workshop, scientists and experts focused on systematizing information, discovering and new interpretations of personal experience, career, political - social - educational viewpoints; clarifying the issue of texts and the nature of literature - history - philosophy in Nguyen Binh Khiem's preface. From there, comprehensively evaluate the ideological system, philosophy of enlightenment, enlightenment spirit, and international influence of Nguyen Binh Khiem heritage.
At the same time, it affirms the outstanding values and great contributions of Trang Trinh Nguyen Binh Khiem and his legacy to the history of the nation. Through that, it suggests new directions, important orientations for research, protection and promotion of Trang's heritage values to Nguyen Binh Khiem in the future.
It is known that the Organizing Committee of the workshop received 59 presentation reports from scientists, managers, and lecturers from many agencies and units nationwide. The content of the presentations focused on the issue of pre-educative texts of Nguyen Binh Khiem; Nguyen Binh Khiem's ideology from a modern perspective; the whole literature - history - philosophy through pre-education of Nguyen Binh Khiem; receiving the heritage of Trang Trinh Nguyen Binh Khiem in the context of contemporary culture.
From the discussion contents, experts and scientists affirmed that Nguyen Binh Khiem was a person of great learning and talent; a successful and famous person on the path of publicity chosen; a person who always devoted his life to the people and the country. Having gone through the ups and downs of history with different dynasties, Nguyen Binh Khiem's career has had major changes with 3 retirements.
He is also a great poet of the nation in both the aspect of poetic art and the aspect of reflective content. His poems correctly spoke the laws of transformation and society, so future generations considered them as thunderstorms, predicting the times hundreds of years ago...
